i dont want to derail this thread anymore (sorry op) but if youre telling me that stock for stock, the Z06 is as fast or faster than the ZR1, then youre an idiot. i refuse to believe the Z06 can do 10s on stock tires.

We'll have to wait and see how people learn how to drive the ZR1. People had 2 years to learn how to launch the Z06 perfectly. Have to give people time to do the same with the ZR1.

CTSV- come on...are we really comparing these 2 cars? I am sure the 335 boards have already covered this topic (is their 335i faster with a chip) 10,000 times.

It's improved a lot but anytime I see one (not counting their SUV's) I'm surprised when the driver isn't in his 60's. Now, there's NOTHING wrong with that. The old brand image is simply still stuck in my head despite all their recent changes (It takes a long time to change my opinions). Though, brand image really doesn't mean much to me. The CTS-V is a great car and fills its role very well. If you would be happy with a car like that it would be an excellent choice. I personally wouldn't want one because it's simply too big for me. I grew up driving giant cars and I'm sick of it. I'll be driving something small for the time being and if you were to give me they keys to one tomorrow I'd sell it (even at a big loss) and use the extra money towards a Cayman. |

Edmunds Insideline is one of the most reliable sources of info.
Can't recall him ever being a troll.

Price not considered, I'd take the V.
BTW, there are at least 2 accounts of the C6 Z06 hitting 10.9xx with stock tires. BUT, both of those runs were at like -2000 DA and insane launches on street tires. More like outlier/fluke runs. You could run the C6 Z06 10,000 times on various tracks across the country on various days and you *MIGHT* get 1 run in the 10s. BTW, if you actually factor in how many C6 Z06s have gone to the dragstrip and actually posted 10s, it's only a couple of runs among the THOUSANDS of runs down the strip. So, technically, a Z06 can run 10s BUT, NOT AT STP and only in the very very best of hands. |
