I measured. The door sills are 9" from the bottom of the lower hinge, and 1" out from the door frame. I used a cloth measuring tape.

Thanks for doing that. When I get mine, I'll probably focus on the 9 inch measurement and eyeball it from there. I found another picture showing the ones I bought, and even on a red car like mine, so I'm also using that as a guide. The picture is from many of the BMW OEM parts store sites, so I'm assuming it's also "officially" placed.

The only difference between your placement and the one in my picture looks to be the 1 inch measurement from the door sill edge - the black one looks to be more centered on the sill, but still appears to be about 9 inches from the hinge (just based on that seam in the plastic to the right of the sill protector).

I think I'll be getting out my painter's tape again to mark off the location before sticking it down.

I pick my oxide grey m60 up tomorrow.
Been looking into tints - I’m thinking 30% all around. Did you tint?

I really don’t want anything too dark. For me, It draws unnecessary attention and I do a lot of nighttime driving. I’ve had dark tint in the past and it really interfered with seeing out at night and I also was pulled over bc of it.

Not the door sill edge. The frame where the rubber gasket is.

Yes i have 20% , had the windshield tinted as well at 30 but took it off after a week, it was too dark, i live in the city and at night i felt it wasnt safe, also my interior is white so 20% is perfect

It is the Tanzanite Blue. Very metallic blue in the sunshine to almost black on a cloudy day.
