Tombstone, if you haven't already seen it. If you have, watch it again. Great western.

I live very close to Tombstone. About 2/3rds of the movie was shot at the nearby Mescal Movie Set, which is about 40 miles from town. Last year I got to tour it with the local BMWCCA chapter. SO many great westerns shot there over the years. Any fan of westerns should definitely check it out when visiting the Tucson area (it's about 50 miles to the south of Tucson). https://www.mescalmovieset.com

My wife watches that every time it shows up on weekend afternoon TV. I've seen it (in pieces) many times over. Still a great Western flick.

It's a very long drink of water but Sergio Leon's "Once Upon a Time in the West" is on my annual watch list. If the 2 hr 30 minute running time doesn't scare you a very slow pace might put most viewers off. But it's an epic up there with Lawrence of Arabia. Henry Fonda as the villain has so many great moments. An absolute classic.

Jeremiah Johnson. 1972. Robert Redford and Will Geer. Directed by Sydney Pollack.
Different kind of western: "A Mexican-American War veteran, Jeremiah Johnson (Robert Redford), heads to the mountains to live in isolation. Woefully unequipped for the task at hand, Johnson is fortunate to come across a seasoned mountain man (Will Geer) willing to teach him the necessary survival tactics." |

Paint Your Wagon is a musical, set in the west. Clint Eastwood is in it and sings. I believe this is his only singing role, and for good reason. But I still enjoy this movie.
