It turns out that a bunch of i5 M60s sitting at a local dealer lot have 4-zone climate control. I can see it right on their website from the window sticker and back seat images. It’s listed on the sticker as $650.

At this point I’m thinking the heated rear seats and taking it in for some high quality tint will be a good compromise to the lack of 4NB on my order. 🙃

Yep, I saw that. I had a long discussion with my dealer and there are no open allocations. I also called other dealers in and around the US without allocations so I’m going without. That said, still looking forward to the car.

I think you are referring to Dynamic Handling Package on the G30 M550i. It is listed as package ZDH for that generation and includes adaptive M suspension, IAS also called rear wheel steering, and ARS active roll stabilization. Is 2VV the G60 version of this or is it just 2 of the 3 active components?

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about grabbing whatever the highest spec'ed 550e my dealer has in the lot.

Now I need to contact them to see if they have any allocations for me to order one with DHP

That’s basically sounds like mine every published option at the time plus individual paint.

I think roll stabilization is excluded on the 550e. It think it’s available on the M60.

Is this because of the 48v motor it uses? I thought all the mild hybrid or PHEV from BMW the past few years were all 48V systems allowing them to run something like the i5 M60 ARS. Or maybe I just don’t understand how this works.

I honestly think it's cost control. There is a 2VV option with IAS (rear wheel steering) and some version of adaptive suspension, but that's it, as far as I understand. In terms of option price it is the same price as the original version on my M550 but the M550 has roll stabilization.

I have had and M550 with and without IAS and roll stabilization. There is a noticeable difference.

I think there may be a misunderstand here.

Features

2VV is Adaptive Suspension Pro
2VW is M Adaptive Suspension Pro
ZX5 is Active Roll Stabilization
(I can’t find the code for IAS, even where standard)

Packages

ZDH is Dynamic Handling Package (combines some combo of above features)

On i5 M60, ZDH consists of:
  • 2VW
  • ZX5

So I just want to point out that if indeed you are adding 2VV to your build, I don’t think it necessarily brings in ARS or IAS, you may have to campaign seperately for those (I don’t know).

Another thing I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen reported here is that Launch Control seems to be part of the M Sport Package Pro in most cases, so if you don’t get that, you probably don’t get launch control (although i5 boost paddle I think is standard even without LC).

I think you're right about needing the M Sport Pro package to get launch control. However, I don't think it has anything to do with the Boost paddle. You should be able to use launch control with or without the boost paddle shouldn't you? I will try to remember to try this later on today when I go out in the car.

Yes that’s what I meant: boost paddle not dependent on having LC

From the CDN order guide:

2VV Adaptive Suspension Professional $3,000
2VV includes ZRE x x
Note: ZRE - Integral Active 4-Wheel Steering

At this point can we just concur that ordering a new BMW is right up there with the federal tax code when it comes to being user friendly. What a mess.

I think ordering one and getting one delivered both seem to be moving at the speed of government.

On the G30 generation per a VIN decoded M550i with DHP, option code Z1A is for the IAS. Probably the same on the G60 unless they made a significant change to it.
ZDH - Dynamic Handling Package
2VW Adaptive M Suspension Professional
Z1A Integral Active Steering
ZX5 Active Roll Stabilization
