So I suspect this will be the last maybe the last but one update until PICTURES!
So since arriving at port in the UK and going back to 193, awaiting customs clearance, it has now moved to 193 - "in transit or storage". But most importantly my delivery week, which up until now has always been WK 39 (23rd September) is now week commencing the 16th (WK 38), which considering I was a WK 36 build is incredibly rapid. Not heard anything from the dealership yet, and annoyingly I am on a holiday, so I don't actually think I can even go and get it any sooner than planned - which was the weekend of WK 39 - but where there is a will there's a way |

Hi. I have my G61 on order at the moment with my est. build week slipping by 4 weeks.
Gone from week 40 to week 44. 530E Comfort + pack Tech pack Sun glass protection Brooklyn Grey Dark wood/blue interior trim. Nothing too out there as far as build is concerned I don’t think. I do a live chat every Wednesday evening on the BMW uk website. Is that how you guys have been checking on your build progress? Thanks 👍 |

Ahh nice, where's your dealer?
My car has actually arrived in WK38 and is currently sat at the dealer . But is currently held back by a stop sale relating to the "universal joint". There is another UK based person on another thread who has the same issue. I am hoping to find out tomorrow when the new parts can be fitted, but it might be why your production week has slipped. Nice spec though, similar to mine although I have Carbon Black and Carbon Interior Trim. What colour seats? I have gone Espresso which is the slightly 'risky' part in that I haven't seen it. ETA: Yes, here in the UK the genius chat is the easiest way to track your order, but they only take it up to Status 190 which is delivery to dealer, after that they have no information about any recalls etc, so you rely on dealer info. |

I am in Somerset, south west.
I went with the black seats. I have oyster leather (I think that’s what it was called!) on my current G20 3 series. It’s been lovely but the light colour has needed to be kept clean or it’s looked a bit grumpy after a while! Car colour wise - I have the dark grey on my current 3 series and went for the lighter Brooklyn grey for this. I wasn’t sure light seats with a lighter car colour would work. Each to his own - that’s what I love about speccing up a new car. You get what you want, not what someone else has chosen. I am sure your seats will look the part. Online photos always look great to me in all the options. Might sound odd but I think the size and shape of the seat lends itself to a little colour. Just catching up on the posts reading about the stop sales / recalls. Hoping mine will have any known fixes applied at the point of build. I hope they managed to get your sorts quickly. It must be frustrating knowing it’s at the dealer. Cheers |

So after being held back at the dealer for 2 months due to the UJ recall.
She arrived on Friday afternoon...It couldn't have arrived on a busier day/week so the whole handover was a bit rushed, all weather boot liner was installed right away and I trimmed the rest of the passenger mats that evening. They have already earned their worth here in the UK with leaves and crud everywhere. Some scrappy photos here, the side on one just had the sun in it so looks off. I also can't believe how hard the Espresso interior is to photograph accurately. Carbon Black M Sport non pro (Silver Grill) Espresso Carbon Interior 20's - 938 What a car so far I have done about 120 miles in the past day, stretched it's legs a little yesterday - took the dog in the boot. Have a few trips coming up that i am now looking forward to! Super happy with how the spec turned out, I had an idea in my head and took a gamble on the espresso as I couldn't even get my hands on a sample. ETA: I am fairly happy with the Harman system, it was the one big question mark for me. I don't think it is bad as a "stock" system, in fact it is very good, and it is the paid for upgraded system in the smaller cars. But next time I will be aiming for the upgraded system. I swear I read somewhere that the Harman/Kardon badges were illuminated. Mine definitely aren't (Maybe they are on the X1 etc where this is the upgrade?) Does the green stripe on the number plate indicate it's electric? I have seen these on several cars in the UK, and was not sure what they are for. I know they changed the plates after BREXIT so they no longer have the blue on the left with UK as the EU plates have.

You are correct - green stripe on the end is for EV's. But yeah it is typically used to show which country of the EU you're from....so now we have a green stripe for EV's instead

On your photo of the boot you appear to have some kind of accessory which partially protects the carpet and has pockets. Is that correct? What do you use it for and where did you get it?

It is the BMW all weather mat. They sell just the boot liner, but I have the whole set as it was a bundle.
The side netted pockets just came with the car but the rubber tray that fits perfectly is BMW All Weather Bootliner. Not 100% sure on part number but it would be G61, the footwell mats are interchangeable 60/61. Not the cheapest way to protect the boot but it is really thick, well made and I have had them in each BMW boot and they last! |

The Mat in the boot matches the one I have in my 540. Same logos as on the floor liners I have up front too. I like the quality feel of it and the raised lip makes it so any spills are easily contained, as in Spain we don't have trash cans at home to put the trash in, and take to the curb. We have to take it to Dumpsters placed in the neighborhood for that, so I take it out in the mornings on my way to work and stop at one of the dumpsters.
