Yet, the CTO of my company who is a car buff, keeps complementing me on my car. It is stunning in person.

I had heard of the new 2024 5 Series coming out back in mid 2023, when I almost got one then. But I waited for the second production year (2025) to hopefully avoid some of the bugs. But love the look of the new 5er. I would say my only complaint is that the ICE versions like the 540iX I have ordered do not have exposed exhaust pipes. Not even the M-Sport Pro ICE models. I wonder if BMW did that to keep the look the same with the ICE as well as the I's and e's. So basically if you do a badge delete nobody knows what you are driving until you start the engine or know the different grilles. That said I am hoping there will be some M-Sport aftermarket G60 ICE kits that change the insert for the Diffuser and add quad exhaust resonators for the 540 and/or maybe dual exhausts for the 530/520/diesel variants. The pipes line up. You only have to cut off where it bends (And maybe not even that if they have a top entry to the extensions). Last edited by AiredaleDad; 06-17-2024 at 06:51 AM.. |

Its for everything. Older gen owners hate it because they feel betrayed. Theyre the same people using blackberry phones.
I love the design of the new i5 and m2. |

I never really liked the 5 series always was a 7series driver. But new i7 front end is not one like at first. But I also thought 4series grill was too much then got the i4 it became my favorite part. Then i5 preorder came up and lowd the look right away. It was love at first sight.
Now owning it since Nov1 I really love this car. Then I stated to Looking at 5 series more. True F90 looks great but G60 has that look I can’t explain. But again I’m a BMW brand owner for over 20years. Only BMW at my house just like only Procter and Gamble products. But also car guy in heart and I can see beauty in the cars designer idea. Reason I love to see mods done to cars (glued or taped ). |

I love the new i5 and have no problem moving forward with the design. It will grow on the older generation I guess. Just bought tickets to SEMA Show Friday Experience + Fest VIP in November. See you there! Thanks for the tip.

Same! I would have never considered a G30. It clearly served its purpose, but the design itself was nothing that would have moved me to purchase it. I've not really followed the brand over the years, until about 2021 or so. People talk about the grills being oversized, but these look "normal" to me. When I see grills on BMWs from yesteryear, I usually have two reactions. 1) How does that think cool the engine adequately? 2) Someone call an ENT surgeon for that narrowed septum! In reality, BMW is building for a new audience of younger buyers, and they're going to shift their designs and style to match what 'most' potential buyers want. Most BMW owners are statistically in the 40-50 range today. The same people who bought the F10's at the time of release are now in their 60's. This is just the evolution of automotive change. We can either embrace it, or people can continue to drive their 'classic BMW'. No wrong answer, here |
