Renting an EV in an area that you may not know best and / or are visiting is a highly questionable idea... i recently rented from Hertz and purposely avoided EVs for that reason. With that being said, my experience with Hertz was very positive... i got a brand new Hyundai suv and didn't complain.

As a Tesla owner and lover of my Model 3 I rented a Model 3 from Avis earlier this year when visiting some friends in CA. I knew charging would not be an issue, not driving much, chargers everywhere and my friend has multiple chargers at his house.

That being said it still sucked compared to my own Tesla. Mainly because you do not get access to the app or profile or anything like that which is one of the best parts. At that point it's basically like an ICE car but with a clunky credit card fob (wouldnt be as bad if it didn't have 20 tags and shit attached to it from rental company) without keyless entry.

So yeah, would not rent a Tesla again. Still love mine.
