I just had the normal seat movement that I get with Comfort Exit turned on. When I unbuckle the seat belt:

The seat moves back, and
the side bolsters widen/loosen.

The opposite happens when I buckle the seat belt.

There is no movement of any other part of the seat. I felt for thigh movement (both up and down and forward and back), etc. and nothing. So I have to report that it is still a mystery. I also tested movement when turning the car on and off, and also found do difference in movement of the seat (basically no seat movement, just steering wheel movement).

Maybe one day far into the future we will learn what this magic they call "Comfort Adjustment" is...
The extra movement is in the idrive functions not on the controls.

Could you please elaborate? As far as I can tell this "feature" does absolutely nothing. If you've found a way engage it so that there's actually a change of any sort in seating position I'm sure everyone would be most interested in hearing about it.

The additional movement of the seat is located only in the drive settings. It gives you two more movements. Goto a dealer that has the luxury seating package and you’ll see. It’s minimal, electric thigh support and I think headrest or upper back.

I see the setting in iDrive options but tapping it seems to do absolutely nothing. And I have the luxury seating package.

Everyone with the luxury seating package has those additional electrical adjustments. What everyone is wondering is what the “comfort adjustment” button on the right side of the screen does. It seems to do nothing.

That button is selected to make the actual seat adjustments. You can touch the screen for each section. The best thing to do is to compare a vehicle that has and that doesn’t. That’s what I did. It’s minimal two movements.

Can you you explain? Those with the luxury seating package have pressed the comfort adjustment button, and everyone says nothing happens. What happens when you press it?

I have the luxury seating package. I can bring up the seat adjustment screen and make bolster adjustments and headrest adjustments. That is always available. Are you saying that the comfort adjustment needs to be turned on in order to use the screen seat adjustments and if I turn it off then I cannot do the seat adjustments via the screen? That makes no sense. It requires extra coding to turn a function on and off that should be always on.

Yes, I have no idea what Muslenutz is saying. The extra functions are adjusted by touching the little "dots" on the seat on the screen. I guess you could try turning off "comfort adjustment" and seeing if the little dots on the seat disappear. But as you said, why would it do that? Doesn't make sense...

Agree with you that it doesn't make a lot of sense. However, I will test that later today after work when I'm back in the car.

I did not try that button. All I did was check a vehicle with that package to see what seat adjustments there were. I was able to electronically move the leg extender and maybe the headrest or one other option via idrive and not the physical seat buttons. It’s hard enough to find these vehicles to compare lets alone that package. I do what I can here with information to share. I tried it out before a possible order of the option. I recommend emailing their customer support group or visit a dealer and try it yourself. I did find the seats to be subpar compared to my G30. I found them to be not as comfortable and they seem to have fix positions in their adjustments. Dialing it in to my sweet spot seemed like a task.

Ok, but the whole question people were asking was - what does the “comfort adjustment” button do? It doesn’t move or adjust the seats. The little dots on the image of the seat in iDrive accomplish that. Many people here have the luxury seating package and have tried the “comfort adjustment” button and found that nothing happens. Nobody seems to know what it does… It remains a mystery.

I tested mine. After turning that button on and off, it made no difference to the dots and it did not change any possible movement with the seat. I was able to fully move the thigh support in all directions with the Comfort Adjustment on or off.

Still no joy.

I am getting ready to order a 2025 540i as soon as I can. I was planning on getting the luxury seat package specifically because I was under the impression it had the massage seats. Is it worth it to spend the $$ for that option if it doesn't. I can get the ventilated seats as a separate option. Normally I just set the seats the way I like it, set the memory function and never mess with it again. So the only difference is whether or not my wife has driven the car, or it has gone in for service. (for some reason all service guys seem to be 4 feet tall and have to adjust every seat and mirror setting in every car I have owned.) It's nice to just use my key to unlock, or push the #1 button and everything goes back to normal.

I'm not fond of the manually moving thigh support feature on the seats. I prefer that to be a powered movement. For me, it was worth it for that. You will also get seat memory settings for the passenger seat, but that is less important to me, but still nice to have. If you don't care about either of those things, you're probably fine with the normal seats.

It’s fair to say that outside the additional adjustability the seats are the same? Most importantly, the shape and cushioning is the same?

I think I will miss the messaging seats that I had in my M550i. It was really great for my back during long distance travel.

Anxiously waiting in my i5. it was shipped on Victoria Highway ship and left the port in Europe on May 22nd and according to my client advisor has arrived in the United States

I have confirmed with my SR, who has the ability as of yesterday to order the new 2025, that there is still no seat massage function in the 2025 MY. So I told him since I am going to be the only driver, don't need rear seat heaters, and my wife normally sets her seat and leaves it alone, that I don't want the COmfort seat package. Yay! Now I get to order the M Alcantara seats I wanted, but are not available in the luxury seats. And I can still order the ventilated seat package with the Alcantara seats.

That works well for you. I was a little bummed when I realized that not all leather options/colors work for the luxury seats. I probably would have chosen different color or leather seats otherwise.

If you don't get the luxury package, do you still get passenger memory function via the digital key?

I wonder why, in the configurator at the end, in Summary, if you look at the interior, it shows the M Alcantara seats I have selected, but still shows the memory functions on the passenger side, even if I go to the 360 view the buttons are there. Is this maybe because I am ordering the 540iX and not the 530? Or is the configurator not 100% accurate in the visuals?
