If you want something a little different, I got the carbon black. This "black" has blue tint and at various times can look a deep blue and other times look black.

if you want something a bit more special i would go with the oxide, as its a new color. black and carbon black has always been around. i too have carbon black...and the car wash never lasts more than a few days...

I wish they offered the i5 in Dravit Grey (without needing to go Individual).

I like Oxide as it is dynamic like Dravit (and i do like the yellow/gold-ish tint and am not an old grandma!). @deutsch100, I totally understand what you are saying about the Lexus300! But the shape of i5 definitely won't make a person look like that. I would think the lighter color would make it easier to maintain.

Black is always sick! Looks fantastic! Total badass! But very hard to maintain. PPF would be a requirement for me if I went black.

Our sons M3 Comp is Dravit, and it is beyond an amazing colour. I would paint my Black Sapphire i5 M60 Dravit in a NY minute! Dravit shifts to greenish-gold in the sun, but it never turns old lady Lexus ES300 champagne or taupe

I had an iX in Oxide Grey and it is so, so easy to keep clean....the best part of the colour.

In bright lighting, Oxide is the perfect silver gray. But in a lot of lighting situations, it does turn into Mildred's Lexus

My Jaguar was carpathian grey, their equivalent of Dravit. I loved the color but my husband couldn’t differentiate from black.

I had a full size Range Rover in Carpathian Such an amazing colour on Jags and Rovers.

I briefly had a '98 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas in British racing green(what else?) Even the owner's manual pouch was in green leather. It had cream-colored sheepskin carpet and a nice fold down walnut wood table in the back. Every trip, even to 7-Eleven to get my daily dose of slurpee and chili dog was a real treat... in the 7-Eleven parking lot, I sat in the backseat and put the hot dog on the wood table to enjoy my lunch. (didn't want to do it in my office parking lot because my co-workers would surely have made fun of me)

driving it just felt special. I can still remember the smell of the interior when I got into it for the first time with just 12 miles on the odometer. I leased it for 2 years and bought it when the lease expired. The salesman at the Jaguar dealer was a British gentlemen who lived in the DMV(what are the chances?). I think that's how I got "tricked" into buying it.

Unfortunately, I became good friends with the technician at the Jaguar dealership because the car went there for warranty repairs on a monthly basis. But I still loved that car. Actually, I think I still do! If it wasn't such a money pit after the new car warranty, I would have kept it because such a classic.

been waiting to see if anyone is importing a late 1990s Citroën XM in the US. It's one of my absolute favorite cars.

Delivery would take about 6 months. My current lease (Mercedes EQC) ends in October. Glad to go back to BMW, my real passion! 😉 I had a couple of bimmers in the past but ordered the EQC because back then BMW couldn’t offer me a decent EV (unless the ugly I3)

But there‘s a very nice G21 in Oxide in my neighborhood.
My next bimmer will be anything but black.
For some reason BSM never has that deep, rich black effect... if you know what I mean. Maybe once rolling out the showroom.

Wife went with Cape York Green on her X1 and the 5 touring press release car looked very sweet in CYG as well.

I have a new oxide grey 540 MSport and your photos on my monitors, which are color corrected have way too much gold/tan compared to my car. Having said that, depending on your environment, the color can go more towards gold or more towards gray but most of the time in natural light the color has only a slight tint of the gold/tan.

FWIW, I've had my car for a couple of weeks and received many compliments on the color.
