If it is a backup sound, which is a government requirement safety feature, it should be on a recall list. And existing vehicles would not be allowed to be driven. If it didn’t affect previous builds, then I can’t believe they just broke something.

My transport ship docks in less than a day. If I don’t do my trade by year end, I lose another year of depreciation. I will talk with my SA today.

My SA just read me the entire recall notice. It’s an audio bus issue. No current timeline for the fix. Dealers are not allowed to sell any i5s in stock and all cars in transit will be held at the port. Hopefully, it won’t take too long to fix.

The 20th works for me. Mr car is being unloaded today, so not really much of a delay. I had estimated 2 days for customs, 4 days at VPC, 7 days for a truck and transport, 3 days prep at dealer. I might squeak in before the year end. If not, I will schedule my holiday time off in January.

If you can read the URL, you can enter your VIN and check if they have updated your vehicle.

This is all very interesting. My dealer claims to know nothing. They told me not to expect a resolution until next year. Please post if your vehicle gets a fix so I can hold my dealer's feet to the fire.

I have had my i5 M60 for a few weeks now, entered VIN and shows:

no recall 0065470400 Steuergeräte programmieren (RAM Receiver-Audio-Modul) Status is Open

I will contact my dealer to see if they know anything.

Given that my dealer was told by BMW corporate the fix was deploying today, stands to reason we would not start seeing any of these close until today at the earliest.

He said they do the ordered/sold cars first.

Just got confirmed by the dealer that the fix (at least for European/France markets) hasn't been released today for i5 edrive 40. Still hoping this gets released some days next week.

“ Hey sir! So you’re 5 series is off of stop sale. The software was released and it is being pulled into the shop to be reprogrammed now. We can most likely schedule pick up for tomorrow but I will let you know for sure shortly”
