I know, like I said most of them had porsches as their toys, but I was just surprised at how inexpensive their normal cars were. |

Hmmm 5 cars, money no object...
1) Bugatti Veyron: For its pure excess. Actually, considering the engineering this car is pretty good value for money. It has been said that this car could possibly not be replicated again. Garage queen category. 2) Ferrari F430 coupe: Its a everyday Ferrari. Every enthusiast collection should have at least 1 Ferrari, regardless of model/year. Occasional public road fun category. 3) E60 BMW M5: For its unique combination of sedan practicality and F1 inspired performance. Everyday tooling-around category. 4) Aston Martin DB9: It just gorgeous, enough said. For the James Bond in you. 5) Acura NSX: Last car (only production car) blessed by Aytron Senna. Also hallmark Japanese engineering. Actually its quite hard to pick just 5 ... I might throw in a Honda S2000 (best gearbox), EVO IX MR (AWD rocket), Lotus Exige (track fun) and Porsche 911 GT3 (track fun)...choices, choices, choices!

sharp1183, you are correct -- old money (aristocracy) doesn't have to show off their money -- they've had it for generations. They're not out trying to prove themselves, and in fact have a vested interest in staying anonymous.
These flashy cars may often in fact be driven by nouveau riche or just people with a lot of debt...
