Looks like black will be a popular color to buy.

It was looking good until I saw the front. At least it doesn’t have the stubby proportions the current one has. The current one looks like an A4 for munchkins.

And yeah, that 5 cyl is a nice engine, but I get why they’re not dropping it in a bunch of other cars. Same reason Volvo dropped their awesome 5 cyl they had in the S60R.

I believe Audi may bring the hatch to North America building on the success of the RS6 Avant (maybe not launching at the same time).

The big story for me is the addition of power and memory controls for the seats! This was a deal breaker for me when I considered the RS3 a few years ago.

Interesting that they left it out.
I guess the research indicated that RS3 owners do not like to share their car with friends and family members, so the seat position never changes.

Same for me a few years ago. I was shopping between a ‘18 F80 and RS3 and went with F80 because overall looks and features. The lack of power seats on the RS3 was a deal breaker.

I do think this looks better and more aggressive than the outgoing model. But I still can’t get over the overall short stubby look of it. Leaning towards the IS500 now.

I have never once cared about not having power seats in my RS3, I have the seat set where I want it and it never moves now

Honestly, it looks too similar to a Jetta.

I get that they are trying to have a corporate identity with the grill design but it simply doesn't work here. The exterior just looks cheap.

Bringing both at the same would be much easier, as much as I wish you are correct!

I much prefer the previous design. Interior is a step up.

Why is Audi's 5 cylinder often talked about as their best motor?

Because it has character, and it's about the only thing that's unique to Audi. What other engine do they have that's got any character? The 2.9L V6 is a Porsche lump, the V10 is a Lamborghini lump, the EA888 is VW's.

It's just a unique motor. Basically the V10 lopped in half. Sounds great and has huge modding potential. Other than that it's nothing extraordinary...it's not particularly smooth, and there is very noticeable turbo lag, but once you get it going it's a gem.

i'm taking a vacation to LA next week. Rented a 2018 TTRS off turo for the last day. i've driven so many types of performance car engines but never had a 5 cylinder. should be fun.
