Just for the record, regarding the E36 wheelbase. They are all 270mm, including the M3 3.0.
It's only the M3 3.2 that has a 10mm longer wheelbase (you can see the front wheels not being perfectly centered in the wheel arch/fender). This is because of the 3.2's specific lower control arm, which gives the car more caster.
