Rome by far the 1st on the list and then Milan. The escape to Lugano (Switzerland) from Milan proved to be therapeutic.

There are three places which stand out for me; Bali, Rome and Hong Kong and I couldn't say which was the worst. They are stressful all for the same reason, the sheer number of cars, motorcycles and people all seemingly going a hundred miles an hour in a hundred different directions.

The other very stressful time was when I was lucky enough to drive around Yas Marina in an Aston. I hadn't driven for two months, the car was a left hand drive, it was night, it was 90% humidity and I was on a race track.

Another very stressful time was doing a ride day on a high powered motorcycle (worked GSXR) in the pissing rain all day. Talk about a sphincter lock up!

Big euro cities are an absolute debacle, the scooters drive you insane. Especially places like Italy and France, not really organised like say Germany, it's just utter bedlam and the pedestrians are all on a death wish.

My wife cannot read a map to LITERALLY save her life, like no idea, so I am navigating at the same time (before GPS) ...... scooters, map, no power from small engines, pedestrians that just DO NOT LOOK ... urrrrgh.

USAF, needed to pick up something from the Yokota and deliver it back to Misawa in the North. I was used to it since I had brought my 73 VW Bus with me, granted a semi is a bit larger than a VW Bus.

Cool! I'm sure you've got a lot of memories from those days
Doesn't Yokota AFB have a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji?

Probably Romania. A combination of lack of highway system and erratic drivers ends up a perfect mix for a stressful cross country drive.

The hills and mountains in Spain around Sevilla in a massive downpour going waaaaaaayyyyyy too fast in BMW M5's.

I got out of the car shaking. As did my passengers.

I was just going to post this, after my road trip last week! Keep in mind that I used to drive on the Long Island Expressway through NYC on the Cross Bronx...towing my 24-foot enclosed race car hauler...in Sunday afternoon/evening Hamptons/beach traffic...and am still picking Miami with no trailer.

Trying to navigate the roads around Miami airport is impossible, since the roads don't physically connect in three dimensions and Google Maps doesn't seem to know the roads that *do* connect even going straight on the same level. Try going into that strange area during the afternoon rush hour during a torrential downpour that was flooding everything and making street signs impossible to read. I'm pretty sure that I saw a raft full of Cuban refugees on NW 36th near River Drive through the monsoon rains. It's no wonder why the locals in south Florida all prefer to fly out of Fort Lauderdale and not Miami. It's also no wonder why the IATA designator is MIA.

Are there any commercial pilots who have flown into MIA? Is it just as hard to taxi around that airport as it is to drive around on the streets outside the fences?????

There is a certain flow in NYC traffic that makes it a very interesting place to drive.

I picked up a LHD Lamborghini in England and drove it around the countryside for two weeks. I couldn't see around the corners, and the streets were narrow as fuck. Trying to merge at the roundabouts were a complete nail bitter for me, but luckily people slowed to look at the car. That gave me room to accelerate and get the fuck off of the roundabout fairly quickly.

I grew driving in NYC, it's no big deal. You just have to be confident in playing chicken with the cabbies lol. I used to have a jeep with a huge brush bar on the front and I didn't give a fuck.
