When I was in junior high school, I followed the tradition of keeping my wallet in my back right pocket. My thinking changed when I was on a school trip to NYC, and some local city punk not from our group tried to pick my wallet as I was standing in line. I grabbed his wrist with my right hand, but could only get a lame punch to his head with my weaker left arm. It was probably the only reason why he lived long enough for the security guards to hall his punk-a$$ butt away in one piece, and I regret to this day not delivering a proper lesson to all city punks about messing with a country boy. From that day forward, I changed to keeping my wallet in my left rear pocket...so that I could grab a pickpocket's wrist with my left hand and knock him unconscious clean into next week with a hard right hook as I rotate to the left.
Fast forward several decades... After my nearly two-month hospital stay about 5 years ago, I was discharged with a central port in my chest and an albatross of a 7-pound, 24/7 IV infusion pump hanging around my neck for 1.5 years or so. When I returned to work after nearly 4 months absence, the office dress code police were afraid to approach the dude strapped to an IV albatross with a hose leading into his shirt. I got away with sweatpants and a T-shirt in the office the whole time, the only problem being that sweatpants do not have back pockets. I got into the habit of sticking my wallet and personal cell phone (powered off) into the IV pump bag around my neck, with my house/car/office keys on an equestrian "lobster clasp" clipped to a spare "D" ring on the IV pump bag. After the IV was discontinued, I tried to go back to the left rear pocket with my wallet. It felt so weird that I gave up on it after a few days! My solution for work days was to keep my wallet and personal cell phone in a pocket of my soft-sided lunch cooler, with my keys on the same equestrian "lobster clasp" clipped to a spare "D" ring on the cooler. If I'm going somewhere without my lunch cooler (not very often due to CHF and now COVID lockdowns), I grab my wallet and put it into my left front pocket...because grab left wrist and punch with right hook.....

While not this one, it is basically what I use. Magnet holds the few bills I carry folded and held well and my cards are easily accessible. I can get my main CC in and out without even removing the wallet from my pocket. LOL https://www.amazon.com/Roundtree-Yor.../dp/B01N19DDTL

Front left pocket - keys and wallet
Front right pocket - cell Rear pockets - nothing EVER And can't stand bulky keys and wallets in my pockets. My key just has the FOB and house key. Wallet is just a quarte inch thick credit card size sleeve that holds 3 or 4 cards. |

No wallet...just money clip; cards and 1 $100 bill since I use my card(s) for most transactions. If I ever need quarters for toll or spot an arcade (unicorn) to stop off at, coin holder.

I have one set of keys that's "everything." Houses, shed, bike lock, bottle opener, cigar cutter, gate opener, etc... I carry that every time I leave the house and toss them somewhere in the car. Rarely in my pocket.
Then I grab the key to whichever vehicle I'm driving which will be in my front right pocket (unless it's a classic I'm driving, then I have to actually put it into the vehicle ) Ridge wallet stays in the front right. Bit of an adjustment compared to the fold wallets I've used, but now that I've got it, it's great. Takes up no room and barely notice it. Generally clip a knife over the front right pocket. Phone in the front left. Sometimes an appendix pew pew. Nothing ever in the back pockets - I've got a bad back. |

I try to "forget" my wallet at home so my wife has to pay for lunch or whatever. But when i do "remember" it (usually so i can buy beer) i keep it in my back pocket with a chain. Not because i'm cool but because i've lost my wallet on many an occasion.

Hartmann's cardholder with built-in money clip.
2 Credit cards, my license, health cards and a folded up 100. Usually a couple of 100s and 20's in the clip with whatever receipts I've collected from daily spending. This thread has been brought to by the US Professional Pick-Pocket's Association as a service to their members.

One wallet carrying many £50 notes and a couple credit cards which I hardly use, license stays at home, don't have to have it on you.

Always front pocket and like many I carry a very thin wallet which just holds a few cards and that's it. How on earth do some of you keep it in your back pocket?? That is so uncomfortable. Sitting on a wallet is awful.

My wallet lives in my luggage piece, it's only used for travel. I haven't used a wallet in 4 years, not even a phone wallet thing. Half the time I drive the 3 series, the keys are left at home...less is more.
