Someone changed the title of my thread. Does that happen all the time?

When I was in college I took a program and got a NCLE (National Contact Lens Examiner) it was like a licensing for some states or certificate with not much punch. Doctors office should teach you insertion and removal to the point your pretty proficient and they should be very agreeable to follow up instruction.
A good mirror at a comfortable level can be very helpful. It just takes practice. |

I was taught to do it without a mirror at once. A mirror is a bad addiction: it's very helpful to have no need for it all the time. |

Whatever works, but I didn’t want people to think using a mirror is incorrect https://www.ooa.org/aws/OOA/asset_ma.../110768?ver=82 Last edited by overcoil; 11-13-2019 at 04:43 PM.. |

Takes time. Use mirror at first. Once you can open your eye and not flinch you'll be ok. Takes about 6 months. if you think they suck try scalera lenses !

Well, I can't find confirmation of my lens sticking due to "vacuum" idea, they are supposed to let some oxygen in and still I'm absolutely positive it's not gluing - no need to press hard or hold depressed long. Last edited by No one; 11-14-2019 at 04:55 AM.. Reason: Physics disclaimer added. |

I do it this way without a mirror. But I have worn them for close to 30 years. I don't even think about it now and can do it with one hand. Lens on my pointer finger, middle finger pulling my lower lid down, look up...and basically let the lens do all the work. My prescription hasn't changed since I have been in lenses...when I started we used the hard lenses. I wear the Accu-Vue Dailies. But they are phasing them out and going with their Oasis brand. Something in that formulation of lens does not agree with me...and I have issues with them. So I bought up over a year of stock with the others. When I run out...I may look into Lasik.

My first lenses were 2 years ones if I recall it correctly. Then I wore 1 year lenses, surely. Now I wear Air Optix Aqua which are monthly. My only issue with them is I can't see well what's close: I see close without them better. I never noticed this before with other lenses. I'm not interested in daily but I've just read they are less oxygen-transparent than monthly. That's not good. I looked what Lasik was when I saw it mentioned in this thread. As it has been noticed here, Lasik doesn't look the most reliable method. Anyway, I will never take even the least risk of eye surgery while I can do without it. |

Pull bottom eyelid down, put contact just a little lower on eye (1 millimeter maybe), close eyes and blink a few after. Should be good. Lubricate eyes throughout the day as needed.

My eye doctor said he had a few people that had some issue with Oasis...and I know there are huge threads about it on the internet. When I run out of these, he wants me to give Hubble a try.
