Love this - the pepita seats and CF roof are quite nice details too! For once, there is a really sexy looking coupe SUV. I owned a GLC63S coupe Edition 1 and while I thought that was much better looking than the X4/6 (worst looking on the market??) the Cayenne Coupe is easily the best looking and will have the quality and performance of Porsche behind it.

You must have never driven a boxster then. While the macan is sporty for an suv, it's nowhere near as focused and balanced as the boxster.

I have a 991.2S, 718 GTS, and Macan GTS and they are all world class cars. The Macan is as good as you get for an SUV and it’s a lot of fun on track too despite not being as capable as the other two.

Anyone that thinks the Cayenne/Macan don't drive like a sports car need to drive a turbo with PDCC, the handling is incredible for an SUV its size. I'm still holding out hope for a special edition V8 Macan one of these days because i'd buy it in an instant, but that's probably a pipe dream. Wish they could put the PDK in the Cayenne but apparently they can't due to needing the auto for hauling capacity and the PDK can't handle towing like the auto can. My Cayenne Turbo was also the most comfortable car I've ever driven, the only complaint I had was the auto is nowhere near as smooth shifting as the PDK, it's like night and day. The bang for the buck on a used one is unparalleled IMO.

Looks like the same Cayenne they’ve always sold haven’t looked at them side to side, but honestly can’t pinpoint a difference off the top of my head

I have not but I did do an autox event with a macan GTS. It's heavy and has a high center of gravity which is par for the course for any suv. Again, it performs admirably for an SUV but as an owner of a boxster I don't see how you can even compare the two.

Not hard to see why it would be relatively easier and less of a burden financially to come out with a vehicle that is built on a shared platform and a type of vehicle that people are buying vs. a sports car/roadster which is a niche market and where Porsche would have to commit financially as its own platform/chassis. Times have changed. Days of unique platforms and powertrains are over. |

I just drove the new Cayenne, and the new/revised ZF automatic is as close to my PDK as I have experienced. Both the Cayenne and X5 were never really on my "buy" list, but the new versions of both have IMO improved immensely. Love my Macan, but not interested in new all-electric conversion, nor am I pleased that the ICE Macan will not be updated to new body structure. So it looks like X5 or Cayenne base for me. Acceleration according to C&D, MT essentially identical. Handling and residual value goes to Porsche. Price, maintenance costs and efficiency go to BMW. Design is personal, but my preference is the Porsche (especially interior quality). But there is a $12K premium as specified...minimum. I'm retired, so that's considerable. |

I love all of these vehicles but the prices are getting outrageous. $90k for a Raptor. $90k for a Macan GTS. $115k for X5M. Crazy.

There are other sources that validate this number but here’s a link to the latest.
https://www.motortrend.com/news/18-l...ciation-rates/ It also helps me rationalize a 911 down the road since it’s close to the top of the list. I realize I don’t keep cars forever so don’t want to get reamed during the trade or private sale process. |

L, if you don't need the room checkout the Macan. This Coupe SUV segment is truly getting out of hand. I would guess the Macan's performance will be better do to it's size......Phil
