On this very day in 1988 there was a terrorist attack in Los Angeles. Numerous people were taken hostage but they were saved by one brave NYC police officer. Yet nobody has taken the time to observe this. Christmas should be remembered for what happened exactly 29 years ago.

I hate the music starting after Thanksgiving.
I hate the Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays debate.
I hate getting gifts people won't use.
I hate how busy every single store is.
I hate seeing about half of my family.
I enjoy seeing about half of my family.
I appriciate hearing the story of the birth of Jesus, albeit for the 100th time.

Christmas like all things has its pros and cons.

Funny how I just realized that the car was LAPD not too long after that post. Haven’t read about this attack in years until last night watching a HBO Special. If the LAPD and FBI would have taken care of business, we would have not read the great heroics from Mr. John Mclane. Not too much was spoken about Johnson & Johnson after their deaths and those two as well shouldn’t be forgotten. I hope the F...B...I... has taken care of their families as even after 29 years it still hits home for them.

BTW, did Holly’s nanny ever get reported to the I...N...S..?

IIRC the nanny was still in Die Hard II, but don't quote me on it. Argyle went on to own limo service and is now retired...

At dinner, we all held hands and gave thanks. WTF??? That was for a few weeks ago. Happy birthday (observed) Jesus!!

I only went to "the mall" on the 23rd because I had to get some more stuff for tamales, then scampered across the road to a Sports store where I picked up a skate/bike helmet, socks ( Lups ) some candy and these flying helicopter thingies that looked like a gag but he REALLY enjoyed. They didn't have any lever-action rifles bigger than .22LR

If you don’t get caught up in all of the Christmas materialism marketing bullshit it can be really nice. My wife, daughter and I had another great relaxing Christmas with each other and family. But, we don’t go crazy trying to make everything perfect and just enjoy the time off with each other. Like anything you get out of it what you put into it depending on what your goals are.
