Yes, but plenty of people will complain about a "4 banger" potential M car.

I'm sure there would be but you have Porsche and Ferrari racing versions of engines they put in their road cars so that gives the impression they beat on/push what they sell you on the track. Then you look at BMW and they don't race their inline 6's...they take the previous Z4, find a loop hole and shove a v8 in it. I know they currently race the M6 but that's huge and to most people...they consider that a touring car. Now the M2/M3/M4 are more representative of what most people consider a sports car from BMW...and they should be racing those with a version of the engine that is available in the car for road use. Again...kind of like Porsche/Ferrari/Audi/Lamborghini etc.

Cheers all!!

Oh I know about the E30, don't forget this bad boy either:

BMW_M12

But there will still be those naysayers. 4 bangers always seem to gather negative connotation.

It's true. The Sixes are amazing, and a shame more love hasn't been given to them.

High level racing has just become a new form of marketing. Rather than filling the cabinet with honor.

+1000

No turbo please BMW. NA V8 or nothing! After 5 BMW M, I separated from my M4 with relief. The turbos, even in BMW kill all the pleasure ... and do not withstand the constraints of the race seems
It's a shame, but I have more fun with my Jaguar F-Type and Jeep SRT.

Reminds me why I can't let this car go. The one and only V8. The only car I drive with radio off.
