The government there basically banned and made it illegal to capture the turtle.

The reason I find this very intriguing is that it's pretty mysterious. I mean there was the legend and then sightings of the turtle coming up every now and then. We heard of attempts to catch it but no one has ever found it (until recently).

I supposed it's like one of those mysteries such as the Loch Ness monster or Big Foot, both of which have pretty much the same stories (sightings, pictures, etc. but no one has ever caught it).
