Very excited for the return of an 8 series and definitely happy about an M8! I just hope it looks good. BMW hasn't really been breaking any style barriers lately and their designs have been kind of bland.

I'm pretty sure the whole story is based on that and the conclusion was that it was the 6 series... Not to piss on anyone's bonfire.

This is just gonna be a larger, more expensive M6 a la S63 AMG Coupe.

It looks like the competition mentioned all have between 550-600 HP. Why not just use the S63 to make this instead of a new 4.0L unit, unless there is going to be some new lightweight tech in it?

The F12 M6 Cabriolet and F13 M6 Coupe are large cars and are really GT cars.

With a new 8 Series and reported M8 coming to market, these will be above the next 6 Series and to be cross shopped against the Aston Martin Vanquish (?) and the Bentley Continental GT the 8 Series will be Grand Touring car.

I hope an M8 is a really coming because it would be awesome!!!!

M6 is not priced at $160+k. It's between $110k and $120k depending on the model. The S63 Coupe however is priced at $163k and that's probably how much this M8 is going to cost, unless it's got a V12 in which case it'll cost upwards of $200k like all the other 12 cylinder AMG's. I'm personally hoping it's more of an S63 coupe competitor so I'll be able to pick one up.

Have you been hiding under a rock? Have you see the M2? Have you seen the i8? The latter has won design awards btw.
