I think it looks a little better than the i3, but honestly...that isn't saying much.

I think everyone on this forum understands the importance of aero and the designs they require- c'mon Scott............

Yet I have seen SCORES of people who think that BMW i designs other than the i8 are quite unattractive and not representative of the chic character that BMW has.

Both i3 and i8 look better resolved than this.

I mean look at the charger cap and its proximity to the door! That's just sloppy and bad design ! Their literally crashing into each other !!! Sigh!
Trying to be analogous here. Are you saying this looks like ahnolds love child?

Irony is not without a sense of humor.

The Cd of the i8 is the same as the Mazda 3.

I don't doubt that this will be full of technology and form follows design and efficiency. However, I think BMW needs to take a bit more risk from a design perspective. I understand the shape of cars like the Prius, Clarity, Model X are design with optimum aero efficiency in the top of the hierarchy, there has to be other shapes in this category (size) that looks good while also optimizing the aerodynamics.

With that said, I'm excited for the i5.

There will be EV as will as PHEV models as BMW cover all tastes in the market.

Listen I love BMW as well but this thing sucks hard. And the Tesla doesn't look anything like a Mazda from the 90's

I think this is an incredibly important car for BMW. Even more so, given what Porsche has in store for us.

With that said, the renders by Julien Jodry from Auto-Moto show a design appears to be in line with Tesla's X....which is not a good thing, IMO.

I guess I will wait a bit before passing judgement.

I don't get it. Why?

Just make a normal looking car. It doesn't have to look like to came from the "future".
