The SS is truly an amazing Australian vehicle. Those Australians know how to have fun. It's got a manual transmission, rear wheel drive, and a Corvette motor, what more do you need?
Everybody should go out and drive one. I know it is the world's ugliest car. Get over it. Get in and drive it. And then you'll end up like me and you will say that is an awesome car but it is so ugly I will never own it. |

i agree that they won't be sold for 50. probably can get them with 38, and with the incentives GM runs could be pretty interesting, but still expensive.
not sure how this fits in with the ATS-V though? is it bigger ? |

The SS just isn't particularly striking or unique. And I'm pretty sure GTs are the dealership courtesy cars to discourage people from using them. Last edited by RM7; 05-30-2016 at 06:59 PM.. |

Styling that appeals to a narcoleptic. Interior on par with a k car. Detuned 6.2, no supercharger version though it's available in Australia. Drop the price 10k, hire a stylist, and they'd sell a few.

I saw a documentary on their new interior stylist for the at the time latest and greatest Beretta. She looked like a homeless person they scraped out of the gutter of Harlem. The interior was one of the ugliest ever made. Only the early 90s Taurus with the Oval everything flop was worse. Why don't they get modern and classy design doesn't have to mean super expensive. Course it doesn't help that it costs almost 2 grand per car to pay retired union workers health care thanks to the poor management of the company. Maybe someday they'll get a clue like Kia and hire a good stylist like they did stealing the audi guy or bmw/na whose workers said no to unionizing.

It does seem that you can get one of these for 40k... which is very impressive! I actually think the car is very good, and to be honest I think the interior isn't *that* much worse than my E90. While I agree the exterior styling is sad, there is a lot of car there for 40k. 4-door zeta platform, 415hp 6.2l with potential, LSD, 6 speed manual, MR shocks. No doubt in my mind it's a better performer than a E39 M5, and probably just as fun to drive. |

I ditched the M3 for a White 2015 SS. Got it for $12.5k off with only 64 miles on it.
I am enjoying the change. Car handles just as well and to me is just as nice. Of course there are some hard plastics, but no rod bearing paranoia, the LS3 sound and AC seats. Truly an undervalued car (mostly due to price). I've had more conversations with people about it then I ever did with the M3.

I briefly considered it when looking for my last car. Then, factoring in how it looks, what it comes with, being slightly overweight and the mpg and my 15,000 miles a year decided it wasn't for me.
The lower price compared to the ATS V-6 I bought didn't look as good when I compared the mpg - http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find....36735&id=37166 Estimated at today's gas prices it would cost another $1150 a year, over my planned ownership of 7 years a total of $8,050, then the chance that a few years from now gas prices will be significantly higher than they are today. Yes I could afford it but adding another $8k in gas costs while I own the car makes it look like less of a great deal and I didn't want to be the guy complaining about $4 gas while driving one of the worst mpg cars made. If they put the Camaro SS engine (40 hp more and I believe cylinder deactivation) and transmission in the car the performance would go up and the mpg would also. Camaro SS 17 city /28 hwy, SS 14/22 city hwy.

I've had the car for a month now. At the time, no manuals were out there that were 15s or demos. Every manual was a 16 and over 46k. I wasn't going to pay anywhere close to MSRP for the car. I almost bought a 2014 before I got the M3, but the mag ride of the 15 is great and this deal was better. I've enjoyed the car, it is a tad louder with road noise than the M3. I think it is mostly due to the RE050s. The biggest thing I miss from the m3 were the seats. The SS seats aren't bad, but they don't hug like the M3. Any other questions ask away. I have no gripes about my switch. I wanted a 4 door sedan without FWD, very few out there are RWD and worth a shit, IMO.
