From what I've heard, ever since they starting building Caymans in the old Karmann plant in Osnabrück they've been having some issues. The Macan is a new model so that is a given.

And what's the deal with Mercedes? They're waaayyy down on the list. Thought they'd be closer to BMW.

Its comforting to know Bmw and Mini are next to eachother which shows consistancy between parent and sub company. Definitely shocked to see Audi where it is, and disappointed but not surprised to see Mercedes position.

That is ridiculous! As from my experience ( i have a lot friends with new premium cars and friends who work in service centers) Audi is the least reliable car and mb is by far the most reliable. My rating is
1) Mercedes-benz 2) BMW 3) Audi |

Their entire line up is riddled with subpar cars with problematic 9 speed tranny and a horrid laggy infotainment system. The New MDX leads the bunch with its horrid build quality issues, rear suspensions noises, interior noises etc.Its the 3rd year in production and still has problems that acura has no solution to.Acura of the tester years is gone. They are all built now in Alabama run by minions.

These reports don't tell the whole picture it is only a cross-section of the reality of car reliability.
By so far my bmw has been more reliable than any domestic vehicles I have owned and almost on par with imports I have bought....but also cost much more to maintain a luxury brand as opposed to non-luxury...which should be a given. |

I stopped reading as soon as I saw Audi. Really? Also, Subaru? Nope, not from what I have seen. Good thing this is "predicted" because some of these are way off.

You have to take this with a grain of salt. These data are generated by people who complain if the car rattles and consider it unreliable. Unreliable means the car leaves you on the side of the road (BMW's HPFP) or is constantly in the shop for repairs. Unreliable is not because the HMI is considered to suck (i.e. Caddy CUE system).

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

So way back I read a CR review of the 1986 Ford Thunderbird turbo coupe. At one point the reviewer rated the T-bird on how difficult it was to get out of the driver's side door with a bag of groceries (gave the car a poor rating...). Keep in mind this was 1986 and most grocery stores used paper bags not plastic like nowadays. Regardless, it was the stupidest thing I ever read in a car review.

Most of this looks about right but I am surprised at how high Audi, Buick and Kia are.
