That looked nothing short of brutal in those first 2 seconds of acceleration.
Makes me think of jet fighter taking off from a carrier vessel.

However it gets old except for the drag racing junkie always thinking about his addiction to upgrade with more costly parts and push the limits further.

I'd say there is much more to a car than just hooking it and launching it in a desert area. Sure it's fun but those couple sec brutal acceleration gets old, I think the real fun of having an m3 are extended spirited drives 30 min at a minimum on a scenic road. Or tracking and for that combination, the m3 beats the GT-R in lasting fun.

why ? because the GT-R is known to have far more computer nanny overriding the driver's input than an M3 or a GT3. It will go in the direction you point it too but will make invasive override of your throttle, brake input . The m3 is more of a driver's car.

Never really thought about this. Aside from the numbered plate 1/200 LRP and the sticker, I have the same exact car and mods but didn't have to pay for Fire orange. The only difference is that I added the oem cf mirrors and opted out of the flat bottom wheel.

Loll There is really no point in saying Limerock.. It is a semi regular e92. But watching that GTR launch was exactly like a jet taking off from a carrier.. I would love to feel the G'sssssssss on that launch

The GTR made the M3 look like it was going 40 mph.

This has been beaten to death since 2008. You're late to that debate. It's more than just turning off traction control, the GT-R engine management is significantly more invasive than any NA porsche car or the M3. It's known fact, the debate is long closed.

I wonder how many people that hate on the GTR have actually driven one on track 10/10ths vs just what they've heard or read or watched...

My debate was closed too and quickly when I had a GTR belong me at a traffic light !(last year)
Went green and I floored it in 1-2-3 gears , but the taillights went smaller of the GTR in the dark , and it was gone...
I will never do this again , because the ///M3 felt like moving in slow motion compaired to the GTR .
I ended up with a adrenalin rush , and thought ...GTR's are just wow !
Still see him sometimes when we cross in traffic and we say hello by our head lights..
All cars that are doing - 5 sec. from 0-60 are really fast , but if one car is doing -1 sec. better , that's huge and needs sometimes + 150/200 HP to do it !
Biggest avantage is also AWD for the grip , same thing about the 911 Turbo/S .
Note : The GTR looks much bigger in person, and is actualy a too big and heavy looking car .
But respect for the speed of the GTR..

Can't believe this, I remember that thread, you posted nearly the same post word for word and I replied to you then, now it's repeat.

Anyways, turbo boosting isn't that big of an achievement these days. And neither is making big power with a turbo. But that's only part of the story. Keeping the turbo compressor and the pistons cool while pushing those numbers under day long heavy driving is the real test, then repeat that days after days for a few years. A NA engine will still give you the same performance, the turbo it depends. Those turbo engines actually waste fuel to cool down the engine, the M4 S55 also, they inject fuel without firing the cylinders to cool down.

For naysayers i drove 2 GT-R when i was on the market to buy a car. Ended up factory ordering my M3.
The pb with the GT-R it, yes is way faster than an m3 but you are not connect to the car like an extension of yourself. There is a whole lot of engine/turbo management going on all the time (yes with DTC off also), you don't have the razor sharp throttle response, it's deciding for you how much boost and throttle is adequate. The only thing you can be sure of, if you floor it, it's brutal, but that's not enough car for me. Being a turbo torque monster is a fad, it's not how a car is enjoyed 99% of its time on the road.

Most people who own GTR's can't drive the car more than 7/10th at the track while stock, never mind with 900 hp. Most people buy GTR's for straight line acceleration.
