and yeah... if I went with the M3; I would slowly work my way towards a CSL car.

yeah, and since the '08 models are hitting the dealers, the remaining 2007 Z4s are being discounted heavily. BMWNA is offering $7500 off on the Z4 M.

my understanding was (i actually wanted to get one about a month ago) that 07s had to be sold before the year was over. the reason they were discounting them was that they would then have to sell them as used. i'm not really sure if that's actually true but that's what people said in one of the other threads.

According to Edmunds.com, the discount was in effect until today (1/2/08); but I've heard rumors that it's continuing until the end of January as well.
This might be true, since I contacted about 5 dealers today, and none mentioned an end to the BMWNA $7,500 discount.

1) I prefer new cars to used cars (assuming the M Coupe is new)
2) I would choose E46 if it was your DD, but since this car will eventually be the fun weekend car, i find the M Coupe better suits that position. |

Test drive them both. That'll give you a definitive answer.
For me, it was a no brainer. M Coupé was my choice... it's just more raw. And how many Coupés have you seen on the road? It's rare! Oh, and one more thing... I use it as my daily driver. |

On the track the Z4M Coupe wins by a mile (tried both at Rockingham) but on the road, at least here in the UK the M3 would be my only choice. But if the roads I drove on happened to be good then I reckon the Z4M could be an option.

Z4MC for sure! I love the sporty drive. I also love a new car over a used one... if it is an M you know someone else drove it hard before you!
If it was the new M3 coming out I would get it... sell it, buy an M Coupe and keep the profit. The Z4 is just so much fun to drive! It is my daily driver as well

Provided your E90 is paid off, I'd jump on the Z4MC. You're right that you won't find better deals on one than now, and with your E90 as trade you'd be getting a heck of a car for little money out of pocket. My current plan is to pay mine off by April, use it as my dd and look for a nice but inexpensive car to get me through next winter (likely a cheap X3).

If you don't mind my asking, if you are still considering the M coupe, why did you decide against the Exige?
I voted M coupe above, BTW.

If I had realized how close in price a Z4M is in price to my loaded 335i, I would've spent a whole lot more time considering it. In their prime, I would say the E46 M3, but its 2008, Z4M for the win

BUT... The thing was an total bitch getting in and out of (I'm 6'2"), plus any longer then 45 minutes, and you're ready to get out for a bit. It's a great car, and I want one someday. Just not know when it's my only car. The M coupe is close in terms of handling, but much more refined. Oh, and I've made my choice. If the loan goes through, then M Coupe here I come.

Congratulations! Disappointing to hear that the Elise is tough on the driver, but I guess I'm not surprised. I love the M coupe and hope it goes through for you!

I'm biased, but if speed is what matters most to you...get the Z4MC.
