My Garage. It will give you updates.

Setup an account on the BMW U.S.A. website and access “my garage.” You can enter the production number there. Once you get a VIN number I believe you can add it to the myBMW app. Your dealer should also be able to tell you the specific production week. Actually assembly happens very quickly - probably a couple of days from paint booth to final assembly line roll off.

It might be too soon? I created the account but when I get to the point where it asks me to enter the VIN or Production number it won't allow me to advance when I click 'NEXT'. It doesn't give an error or anything, it just does nothing.

Congratulations ToddRGuy. If you go to My BMW online and log into your account (Or create one) then go to my garage, add vehicle, you won't have a vin number, but click on my car is still in production and you can enter the order number.

It doesn't work for me because I didn't order mine through BMWUSA, but it should work for you.

Try again from time to time. The website can be glitchy.

It doesn't work for me because BMW Iberica doesn't have that feature for owners. I am purchasing my car from a broker who works directly for BMW AG to sell Tax-Free US Spec cars to US Military/Civil Service in Spain, but under the umbrella of BMW Iberica. So there is no connection to BMW USA until I get there and register it under BMW USA with the VIN Number so they honor the warranties and shit. Your CA ordered it under BMW USA. But my broker can enter the number on the website and it pops right up.

I understand, but I just wanted to give advice to the poster who is acquiring through BMW USA and who mentioned the website wasn’t working. The website can be glitchy, so I suggested he try again.

Thank you! It was strange. When I used my desktop, I couldn't get the entry area to flip from VIN to Production Number, but when I used my iPhone and Chrome, it did it instantly. Was able to get it associated to my account so that's good, but can't explain the quirkiness with the desktop site/browsers.

No problem. Once you move to “production begins” and have a VIN, there is a Google Chrome trick (Google it) that will show you the exact production date which is not otherwise visible

Nope. I still can't access my order. LVBMW I finally made it to Norfolk. Home for the next 3 weeks. Then back to Spain. It was a bad experience. First flight from Madrid got canceled. Then I was re-routed and second flight was delayed 8 hours. Connection was first delayed, then assigned to another aircraft at the other end of MIA last minute. And finally made it to Norfolk and had to run to make it to rental car counter before they closed.

I hate travelling for all of those reasons. I just got back home yesterday from some travel and am so glad to be home.

I feel seen. LOL - just back from Boston last night. Favorite i5 thing is turning on preconditioning from MyBMW when my plane pulls into the gate.

I actually love traveling. When my wife can come with. Usually we go for a long 4 day weekend or mini break to Florence, London, Portugal or someplace like that. But this time it's for work. so I'm flying solo. Here lately I seem to have a black cloud floating over me. Not once can I remember in the last 2 or 3 years, that something doesn't go wrong. Whether it's a flight canceled or delayed, a flat tire in a rental car in the middle of nowhere etc. We actually have this one couple we are friends with who refuse to go on holiday with us because of this. Lol.

Technology is great (when it works). :-) When we landed at the airport, I turned down the A/C at home so it would be cool by the time we got there. We were gone for 2.5 weeks and left the house around 83 degrees F. Sometimes it's the little creature comforts that help make the day better. Of course, while I was gone, I checked in on the car every now and then to make sure there were no issues.

By the way, I left the car at 35% state of charge, and unplugged. The first time I checked in on it after a few days, I noticed that the SOC dropped to 34%. After looking more closely, I remembered that I never turned off the preconditioning for my departure times during the week, so after turning that off, the car stayed at 34% the rest of the time.

Well, my production status just changed today. It’s been at “Ordered” for so long I didn’t expect it to be different. Especially since they hold me it wasn’t going to be built until late August. I really need to call the Genius Line and ask for the build week.

Your dealer should be able to tell you the build week also. They should have known as soon as they received an allocation.

Do you think the timing would ever get accelerated based on demand and capacity? I’d love to get it sooner lol.

Possible I suppose but unlikely. The factory works like a well-oiled machine based on production capacity, so I don't think it's likely to be moved up. Allocations are tied to a specific build week. Once you get to "production begins" and have a VIN number, you can Google "BMW Chrome trick" and follow a few steps in your browser to see some hidden data including the specific production date.

Thank you! I called the BMW genius line and they said it’s scheduled for Week 36, September 2nd. Gosh, it’s sooooo far away!
