Those are post-split prices back calculated. The stock in 2011 was in the $300's which is what you would have paid to buy it at that time.
Yup I'm mistaken. I was extrapolating vs stock price. It was actually oct 2008, $94.63. Before the split.

Wink

That was a BS diversion story. No doubt Apple unlocked it for the FBI, Apple just kept it on the down-low for PR reasons.

You don't need a degree in Finance to be smart with money and investing. Like anything else, just do your research, talk to people who are "in the know" and go from there. Chemistry and Biology aren't anything to sneeze at, they are tough majors. Experience helps, but you have to start somewhere and build a portfolio.

Mutual funds, maximize your 401k and IRA and ROTH IRA if you qualify.

Mutual funds are bad advice

Maxing 401k is not necessarily good advice either

I say put all your eggs in one basket and ignore any advice to the contrary, best decision I ever made. More risk but way more reward. You don't want your earnings in one stock canceled out by losses in another stock. Wish I did it when I was 23.

I'd go with MSFT over Amazon.

They can keep being a loss leader while Apple literally makes over 90% of the profits in the mobile space.

Why is that? Fees? What's wrong with an established mutual fund with low fees?

Awful advice. You have to love the guy telling you what not to do (which is wrong anyway) but not actually what he thinks you should do.

ETFs generally have an order of magnitude lower fees. You also have more trade flexibility.

Maxing 401k may not be good advice because he needs to weigh his tax situation and investment options versus a normal brokerage account. At minimum you should contribute enough to get the full employer match, but automatically putting $18k doesn't make sense for everyone.

Good advise on taking advantage of the company match. Luckily for me my company matches 50% to the irs max. So $9,000 (free) a year. I max that puppy out every year!

That is certainly an unusually nice employee match, so it makes sense to accept the free money.

Funny/odd shit happens all the time. The better screen and camera is not enough to suffer with such a crappy OS. My wife has the S8 and it is a good looking device with a great screen and great camera, my plan was to get one but I can't stand it so im going back.

iOS is just way more efficient and polished, it just works and I'm much more productive on it, the apps (non-google) are on average much better on iOS. Android has gotten better over the years, I still have a Nexus tablet but for my phone, I need it to be fast and efficient, I don't have time to waste fiddling with it.
iOS is better polished than Android? Seriously?!
