Unfortunately it is right, and just to make sure I checked out the UK configurator and it's the exact same empty bezel setup.

I think they are trying to show you that it will look soooo much better if you spring for the other display. Good reason to upsell.

It would look soooo much better if there was no plastic piece there at all, I admire their dedication to wasting an extra ten dollars to slap it on the dash for every car made just to make the owners feel worse about not wasting their money.

I think it's more like they didn't want to have 2 different upholstered dash panels and have to put a cubby or something in it's place. It's cheaper to just slap a plastic cover over the hole to remind you you should have bought the screen. I also bet it's an add on upgrade you can buy and add on later at the dealer.

They could have gone the Range Rover way and had an upper glove box and a lower glove box, but then people would complain that if they order the passenger screen, they lose the storage. Lol.

It is incredibly cheap on Audi's part because at least Mercedes didn't put a large blank on your dashboard in the E-Class.

Lol. They kinda did though. That huuuuuge wood panel on the right makes it look like the teak deck of a vintage mahogany speedboat. Makes me want to cut a hole and install a FURUNO VHF and throttles for the outboards along with a bunch of light and anchor windlass switches.

Makes me wonder if the Sun Deck is big enough for 2 beach chairs. I'll take piano black. Of course I'll have to keep a Microfiber cloth in the center console to wipe the finger prints off.
