Turn off Logic 7. Move the fader slightly more towards the rear than front. Go into the equalizer and manually adjust. Play around with it. I wasn’t that impressed with the B&W system at first, but it now sounds fantastic.

Definitely (!!!) turn off Logic 7. It's awful and really muddies up the sound. I've found very mild boosts to the bass and a slight boost at 5000hz creates a very detailed and balanced sound. The system is quite good.

Yes, I lowered the extreme treble band a bit and raised the overall treble band (the farthest right hand slider) by the same amount. Then I lowered the overall bass band (far left slider) but raised the 200hz band by the same amount. Finally I raised the midrange band a little bit. Sound is terrific with nice punch and good, clean bass when it's present in the music. Very articulate system.

And how much steps did you fade to back?

Not at all. The system's speakers are heavily biased toward the front and that's where the real quality is. The rear speakers are really just what I would call "fill speakers."

Your best sound is going to come from the front so I see no purpose in fading the sound distribution toward the back of the car.

I’ve had the opportunity to listen to both of them in M850 Convertible trim. I’ve gone through all of the settings. While there is no denying the Bowers & Wilkins is superior in nearly every way (as it should for the cost) and the light up speakers are very unique.

However, this latest 464-watt Premium amp from Harmon Kardon in the 8 series really cranks! It can get very loud and still stay clean sounding. The distortion factor is very low in this new amp design and it doesn’t lose bass when you crank it up as does the lower output Harmon Kardon system in the M5. I was honestly surprised at how good this latest Harmon Kardon system sounded. Again, It may be rated at 464-watts but it much cleaner and louder than their past 600-watt amp system. I would be happy to have either one.

I always rear bias my BMW stereo for the best sound. I just move the fader back one step at the time until the sound fits in the pocket. Every driver will have different sweet spots based on their height and seat position.
