I like your build specifications. Just an FYI about the 21" wheels. The rubber will be summer tires which wear horribly and you will experience a much harsher ride. How long is your estimated delivery date? I am thinking about ordering but may just wait for the 25's to become available. Best of luck with your new ride.

Yep over here we get bad winters so I’ll be buying a set of winter tires/rims which usually go on in November and come off late March early April.

My test drive was in the 21” and they seemed fine. I don’t do a ton of mileage, about 8000 miles per year (half of that on my winter set). So I figure the perf tires on the 21” should last me 4 years?

Estimated delivery is tough to nail down but likely around August I figure.

Still no change but my Sales manager sent me this screenshot. First time I’ve ordered a BMW. Anyone know what the dates here mean? I’m quite sure end of June is EOP of the MY24.

It appears as though it’s requested for production on May 18 but maybe not yet confirmed?

The wait is killing me. Only been a month!

Did they give you a production number? If they have an allocation, they should be able to give you a production number. Then you can track on the BMW website.

EDIT: I see you're in Canada. Not sure if you can track on the website as we can in the US.

Finally an update after 2 months almost to the day. Car went into production today!

So I’m absolutely mortified. I was finally able to lookup my VIN on mdecoder and the dealer put the wrong Driver Assistance Package. He put the Plus not the advanced with highway assistance.

Since it’s the long weekend here in Canada, I emailed him to confirm but I doubt the mdecoder site is wrong.

I’m absolutely gutted. This package was important for our road trips. Does anyone know if it can be retrofitted by the dealer at their expense? If not I’ll have to refuse the vehicle. 😭😭😭

The hits keep on coming. They also appear to not have added Glass controls or the 4way auto climate.

Absolutely horrifying they screwed up this badly. I’ve never know the mdecoder to be wrong.

Having waited 3 months just to find out they built the wrong car 🥺🥺

Unlikely, it would be a MY25 but interest rates are ridiculous for those since I’m partially financing/leasing it. Also I would probably have to wait a good long while due to the fact that mine was an individual color, and the dealer has no 2025 allocations - so we’re talking probably early 2025 before I’d receive it.

I’m not really sure what to do and I’m left with a very sour taste in my mouth. Only two BMW dealers here and both have now effectively screwed me.

There is a fully-loaded 2024 Isle of Man X6 M60i that I could get (in stock) at a pretty reduced rate. I love the X6 and always wanted one, but not sure if I could go back to gas after going electric.

Or maybe I should just get an M5?

Definitely not Isle of Man, maybe Irish green.

Either the person changed their mind, dealer ordered it custom as a wow factor, or like me, their dealer screwed up and didn’t order it as the person wanted.

So if in my case they really did screw up, then it’ll be on the lot. They’ll probably have to discount it heavily and lose a ton of money as it’s a 2024 and they will receive it pretty much when the 2025’s are out.

Agreed. If they can find someone who wants that color. I have a feeling that might take a good long while. Huge difference between this color of green and Isle of Man green. Maybe a Leprechaun will buy it right before St Patrick's Day of 2025

How in the world does this happen?! When you negotiated the deal, did you get a signed build sheet? I actually went over everything with the CA, and they drew up a build sheet and a buyer's order. They sent me both via docu-sign. They signed both documents, as did I.

I didn't want there to be any mistakes.

Is the 4 way climate control available in Canada? It's not available in the United States, and I had no luck getting a waiver from BMW NA to add it.

Yes got two PDFs (I think they do things differently here). One was the purchase agreement and the other the build sheet. Build sheet clearly has the advanced driver assistance package, glass controls, and 4-way climate, but none of those appear on the mdecoder site.

The only way I suspect this happened is that my dealer did not have an allocation so they traded for it. It was probably already configured and whomever went in and updated the configuration messed up.

If they offer to retrofit the ADAP (not sure it’s even possible) I’ll consider taking the car without glass controls and 4-way climate. But if they can’t retrofit ADAP then I won’t accept the car.

The car still hasn’t left the factory so maybe there’s something they can do. I’m not holding my breath.

Ok, This has me worried now. I have ordered a MY 25 540i X Drive fully optioned out. I did change the options three times. Once to add the Bowers and Wilkins Surround Sound, Second to add the Luxury Seating Package, and third time last week to add the DPP. Each time I got an acknowledgement as to what the build was. I have an order number, but Since I am ordering a US Specs car From a Spanish Broker the Order number doesn't show up on the BMWUSA site. It says it's not a valid build number. The broker pulls it up on his website and it shows up perfectly. So I have no way to track it. I just hope he doesn't' come back later after the build starts and say they screwed something up. Because I will definitely reject it. I told him so, and he agrees I am not obligated to buy a car if it is not perfectly as ordered. However I do have more time since I am not stated for build until week 36 (2nd week of Sept) and I am not an exotic color (Oxide Grey). And he said if they came back with a spec sheet that was not as ordered he would be able to reject it on the spot and have them re-allocate a new build.
