Wolff has requested the FIA to launch an investigation into the flexible wings .
Aston became a victim of it at Monza , because they had to replace the wings .

Wolff : At Monza it was clear that Aston was slower without the flexible wings.
Hope the FIA will also check the flexible Red Bull wings , to make them 0.5 sec. slower .

Wolff going to the FIA for the umpteenth time to get help to keep the 14 jalopy from sliding too far back, has had good practice at that from Rao.

It's clear that Wolff and Shovlin have run out of ideas for this year and are scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to rejuvenate a useless chassis.

Yeah . Same situation for Mercedes in the 2024 season ...

Ferrari will be the second team now , because they found more speed and pace .
For the rest of this season ,the podiums are for Red Bull and Ferrari.
Great job from the Ferrari team

Indeed Wolff is not a happy bunny anymore and the 'we pull the pin' in '24 quips are not coming anymore from him, wonder how long he can keep hanging on for longer in his situation, Kallenius must not be too happy of how its gone pie eyed for Merc.

'The Fox and the Grapes' is one of Aesop's fables. The story features a fox that tries to eat grapes from a vine but cannot reach them. Rather than admit defeat, he states they are undesirable.

The expression "sour grapes" originated from this fable, applied when people speak disparagingly of things that they cannot attain.

F1 Pundits Share Disappointment Over ‘Ungracious’ Toto Wolff Comments
Posted on September 6, 2023 | by Charley Williams
https://wtf1.com/post/f1-pundits-sha...olff-comments/
It feels like we’ve gone back in time to the 2021 season, with Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Toto Wolff AND Christian Horner all serving spicy comments to each other in this somewhat backwards game of tennis.
This latest round started with Lewis’s comments about Max to Sky Sports F1 over the Italian GP weekend, as he stated all of his F1 teammates had been tougher than the ones F1’s current dominant force has been paired with. Verstappen then responded, accusing Hamilton of being “jealous” of his success and outing Mercedes for having difficulty dealing with losing.
Christian Horner refused to comment entirely but backed his driver and insisted that nobody else in the world right now could beat Verstappen in the Red Bull.
Then, Toto essentially called Max’s record-breaking achievement irrelevant by saying: “I don’t know whether he cares about the records, it’s not something that would be important for me, any of those numbers. It’s for Wikipedia, nobody reads that anyway.”
And it’s Wolff’s final comments that have really “disappointed” former F1 drivers and Sky Sports pundits Martin Brundle and Damon Hill.
Hill, the 1996 F1 world champion, believes those dismissive comments are a sign of frustration over the repeat struggles Mercedes is facing. He told Sky Sports News: “It sounded a bit churlish and not very gracious and unlike Toto because he’s usually very sporting.
“I think he’s hurting a bit now. They know what it’s like to be dominated, and they didn’t even get on the podium [at Monza]. They seem to be a bit stymied and can’t seem to work out what to do, but who can?”
In his post-race column for Sky Sports, Brundle said that he was a little surprised by the comments and applauded Red Bull and Verstappen’s success.
He wrote: “If a tennis player or football or rugby team, for example, was so utterly complete and dominant, they would right be globally lauded at the highest level. As should this pairing be.
“Sport can and should be trial, but you must surely also appreciate a level of excellence in others.
“So, I was a little surprised and disappointed that Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff played down this achievement over the weekend because they rightly received their due reverence and appreciation during their years of total domination from 2014 to 2020.”
Oh dear, it seems those comments haven’t gone down well! 😬

They also don't have money for that. They have a solid #2 driver in Checo who has pulled in the win when max didn't. 8/14 podiums and two wins. I'm anxious to see how the king of the streets does next weekend.

Perez is a protégé of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim. Money talks.

Let's say , that's just the sweet part of the Mexican situation ...

Checo's dad Antonio Perez Garibay is involved in dark Mexican political affairs .
As we know , corruption and drugs are a well-known plague in Mexico .

Garibay looks like a jolly grandpa, extremely proud of his son and his country Mexico. Perez senior never misses a moment to wave the Mexican flag as soon as a camera is pointed at him. It makes for great television pictures. What most non-Mexicans do not know is that the stone-faced Perez Garibay is a well-known politician in his own country, linked to the ruling NGM party of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Of course Checo had people help him get where he is. Nearly everyone in this sport is connected in some way to serious cash. Mazespin, Stroll, and I'm sure there are plenty of others who got a spot on the grid that they might not truly deserve just because of money... Doesn't matter as much anymore with the cost caps, but still a factor for the smaller teams. Checo is there because he continues to earn the seat, imo.

Max is carrying dead weight. Checo is there because Red Bull doesn't need him to do anything more.

Just because he's not another superstar doesn't mean he's dead weight. He's a solid 2nd driver and has stepped up and won when Max couldn't. Really, there's no reason to sow hate between the Checo fan club and the Max fan club, they're teammates after all, sitting 1 and 2 in the driver championship.

At Singapore it will be Checo Perez's 250th F1 race and he will be celebrating that with a new helmet design.

Here's an interesting clip from a few years back of him. Ask Romain.
