To think that this was billed as a predictable year in advance of the regulations overhaul!
- ALO vs HAM was some of the best I've seen. Both incredible, ALO's defense all-time stuff. OCO owes him dinner. - Surely, surely this will seal BOT's fate. Enough. Top 4 seat in the world can't go to him any longer. - F1 has fallen into a bed of roses here. Drive to Survive coverage of this season will bring in an even bigger audience. Miami race next year, more relatable car design, even better racing. Overwhelmingly positive for F1 and motorsport fans in general. In an era when things could really be heading the other direction. - I've never seen anything like the combination of HAM's skill and luck, and yes, the former certainly contributes to the latter. For anyone still believing the authenticity of his radio transmissions, that "2nd life" on the hards was so good he came directly in for a tire change Great mid-race strategy and recovery from Merc. - About time for RUS. - Max. 1 point isn't worth getting excited about, but that probably should have been race over for him alongside LEC and NOR, with HAM getting 25. - Was pulling for Seb, but happy he didn't force what wasn't there. To fill in the F1 summer break, Indycar has an inaugural race next weekend in Nashville and IMSA is at Road America. Then 2 more Indycar race weekends prior to Spa. Great championship battle in Indy as well, with Dixon and Newgarden trying to hang onto young guns Palou and O'Ward.

Max will get a new PU for Spa
Bottas crash damaged the new third PU.
Max will have a grid penalty for Spa if the new PU is used. Merc’s benefit of the rules is disconcerting.

Bottas crash takes out two RBR FIA rules: Bottas at fault Merc impact: 5 grid penalty RBR Impact: 2 PU damaged, chassis damage and 1 point. Future impact: grid penalty at Spa for Max. The rules aren’t working or Merc is working the rules. There should be a standard cost for equipment that comes out of the offending team budget. That would provide additional deterrent. How many teams could survive in F1 if they were in RBR position. RBR should get the additional 5% cost exemption and merc should be prohibited from the exemption due to the above. That will at least provide some remediation.
