Anyone in the Atlantic City NJ area, there was/is a reveal today and tomorrow
https://kerbeck.com/2020-corvette-reveal/ I'm seriously considering the C8, but I'm worried it may garner too much attention as a DD. Same thing happened with my previous two Jaguar F-Type Coupe Rs, and each time I came back to M3s. And I like to drive my cars year round in winter conditions. But for the price and performance of the C8, I may need to change my thinking and settle on a winter beater.

Mentioned about a week ago, my buddy 6’ 4” 260lbs thereabouts fit pretty comfortably when driving my C6. So much so he offered to buy it.
Had a hunch the C8 might be an option for Vipper and found that vid. Haven’t had the pleasure of seeing on yet live but talked to my local dealer the other day and being a Corvette owner in good standing there I’ll be doing a test drive. I’m chomping at the bit!

it'd be very interesting to see what the C8 will do to 718 sales. 911 owners may not be so willing to jump ship but all bets are off for 718 owners and potential buyers.

Sales guy there told me there was currently a $5000 ADM, but that will quickly disappear once others in the area are selling for sticker |

this vette is really screwing up the balance of comparable cars. lol i would imagine new nsx sales will plummet through the floor as well.

salesman is a little wishy washy when questioned on markup, but later states there will be no markup. if this is the case, they'll probably have a few on the floor you can drive home today for $5k markup, but if you wait in line and order one, you can have it for msrp.

I would never buy a first year GM product of any type. They’re notorious for using first adapters as beta testers. The first year 2014 C7s were chock full of bugs and problems and the 6 speed auto was quickly replaced with a even more problematic 8 speed auto.
Basically they use the first 12 month production to determine how much BS the customers will stand. Plus if I were to sell the C7, I would only trade/sell it for a Grand Sport. So that’s at least 3-4 years away.

NSX sales are barely in the double digits (19 sold in June 2019) already. This includes the $20k incentive Acura has been running for years. I can't imagine how much lower it can go before Acura does something drastic. They need to simplify the powertrain and lower it to $100k.

I like it. I won't have one, it's gonna be a cop magnet, but I like it a lot.

i've seen quite a few of them and i just sort of skip over them. nice cars, and i'm not sure what it is, but it is easy to walk past. it doesn't help that the price point is at a level where the car is competing with many other more exciting choices.

I'd have to weigh in what the NSX will appreciate to in a few years, and how much the corvette will go down. And if having a vette is worth that price differential. Test driving first might help your decision.
me personally i'd wait and see what the GS and z06 offer. Base C7's look so basic next to a z06 on the road.

Here is just one of them. http://www.insuranceqna.com/auto-insurance/criteria-for-sports-car-insurance-bracket.html I don’t know if it was just BS but it makes sense from a business stand point for them to keep the base and z51 under 500 HP |

I remember being the first in my area with a Terminator. Car was "rated" or advertised at 390/390 crank. Within a week I had it on a dyno before doing a pulley swap, and it put down something like 398/402 to the wheels bone stock. I think I still have old dyno sheets around here somewhere.

Same in my area. I see a lot of Hellcats, Camaro's, and Mustangs. But only occasionally do I see even a C7Z or a few Porsches. I have seen 1 R10, couple of R8's.....and only one Aston Martin DB series. Everything else is trucks or lifted vehicles, and plenty of generic BMW'S since I live not that far away from the plant in SC. Also I'm usually one of the guys you see driving around about 10mph under in my Corvette. They are "profiled" around here for some reason!

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
