These climate summits have always been economic/power based. As I mentioned before, these hypocrites fly in in their private jets causing more carbon output than many families in a year. And of course, the summit has to e in some cushy place as the elitists need to be pampered.

It it were about the climate, they would fly in with the rest of the peons over mass commercial flights to a location that they claim to be impacted by the policies they're lobbying against. Oh I don't know, Antarctica, the Amazon, Congo, India, China....you get the idea.

Funny enough - you're not allowed to go to Antarctica. Only the elite are. And all guided tours are actually run through one company.

Exactly. If all of the Socialists and environmental freaks just practiced what they preached they could leave the rest of us alone.

Case in point, look at the past article on bimmerpost front page about ChargeScape(joint venture with BMW, Ford, Honda).

They want access to your EV battery pack to help support their failing power grids. If you have solar and home battery storage, they want access to that. Signing an agreement gives them the right to "manage" it all for you.

This is how it starts. All I know, the main attraction of going electric(solar/storage/EV's)...is being off grid. They can "manage" deez nuts.

Can hardly wait till these Green idiots realize that their 20 minute top off became a 2 hour top off because the grid didn't have the power available and all the Web connected chargers throttled down. These are the same idiots that cried like little girls over Net Neutrality because they thought their internet access would be throttle down.

China’s success is down to a multi-decade government-planned effort is both true and slightly academic at this stage. The country’s accumulated advantages are daunting. It controls two-thirds of global capacity for processing lithium, the raw material for batteries, and dominates every aspect of battery production. It produced 10 times as many battery vehicles last year as Germany. It has a manufacturing cost advantage of perhaps 20 to 25 per cent.

Maybe I have this wrong, but given the tension between China and most western democracies couldn't the transition to EV's become problematic if the biggest producer of the materials for batteries decides to screw with us?

Most likely due to this!

What’s behind the surprising growth of one Antarctic ice sheet?
13/05/2022
A team of researchers from the universities of Cambridge and Newcastle in the UK and Canterbury University in New Zealand found that floating ice shelves on the eastern Antarctic Peninsula grew between 2000 and 2019.

They used satellite measurements dating back 60 years, as well as ocean and atmospheric records to get a detailed understanding of ice conditions in this 1,400 kilometre-long peninsula. Their results showed that 85 per cent of the ice shelf in this area grew since the early 2000s.

https://www.euronews.com/green/2022/...ctic-ice-sheet

You will NEVER see that in the main street media! Wonder Why?

You want to know why? China's overall success comes down to the fact that they planned their economy long term as opposed to us. They took short term losses for long term gains. They slowly brought in manufacturing capabilities over the last 30 years and that combined with their natural resources advantage gave them a huge leg up. All in all... its not so simple though... they have a looming real estate crisis and the cost of labor has gone up multiples so manufacturing there is not nearly as cheap as it used to be. They are also hostile which is why many countries are looking at Vietnam and India now to manufacture. In addition, China's manufacturing capability has nothing without the Western world's demand which given the threat of a looming recession... could be in trouble soon.

China in pioneering EV and controlling lithium mining and refining and Russia in supplying gas when Europe was busy decarbonising and shutting down their plants and reactors.
The whole situation is a mess.

Climate Facepalm: EPA's McCarthy doesn't know percent of CO2 in atmosphere

Pathetic how little our ruling class knows about the facts involving our climate.
“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

Interesting H. R. 1435 To amend the Clean Air Act to prevent the elimination of the sale of internal combustion engines

House approves bill against Calif. Clean Air Act waivers
California wants to phase out the sale of new gasoline-powered cars by 2035. An EPA waiver would allow other states to follow the Golden State’s lead.
“Electric vehicles are not for everyone,” said Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas).
The White House released a statement of policy against the legislation this week but stopped short of a veto threat.

Democrats during floor debate said the bill would lengthen the nation’s dependence on oil and said the Biden administration is working to ensure that American companies produce the cars of the future.

https://www.eenews.net/articles/hous...r-act-waivers/

Every member of congress should be forced to sell their ICE's and go EV. When all the news stories start hitting the news about Congress personnel stranded out of electric or car jacked at a charging station, the death sentence of the ICE will be rescinded. Of course this will never get through the Senate.

The EPA dingbat is nothing. How about trying to push someone into heading the FAA whose experience was running bus stations. I don't think he could answer what is the main difference between a turboprop and a jet.

Simulation.
I'm in a simulation.
Has to be.

I have optimism that these policy mandates will be eased and that the EV market can mature appropriately. We will see.

CO2 Is only 0.04% or 400 parts per million of the Atmosphere yet we will destroy the worlds economies (except for China, Russia and India) chasing.
Plants generally start having stunted growth when ambient CO₂ levels drop below 200 ppm.

The comments seem to signal a major shift in government thinking after Emmanuel Macron shook France’s powerful intensive farming lobby, soon after coming to power in 2017, by saying it was time to “stop production, whether of poultry or pork, which no longer corresponds to our tastes or needs”.

What an effing joke.
Indeed taking everything into account it looks like a road to nowhere with the forcibly pushed EV's and some young generation taking lead ers' lies as gospel (''la la I see nothing'' ) being led by a string and a small cash back but only if they qualify.
