That was a good one. His movie, "Homefront," with James Franco is a solid watch too. Franco's villain has a Negan-like feel.

And I didn't even finish.

I saw it in the theater when it first came out and it was called Manhunter.

Found this on the interweb:

Quote:
Manhunter: Why Hannibal's First Movie Wasn't Called Red Dragon.

As one might imagine, the original plan was to call Red Dragon's first movie adaptation just that, Red Dragon. That changed thanks to producer Dino de Laurentiis, a prolific producer who was involved with a lot of great stuff over his long career, but also kind of a character. When Manhunter was in production, de Laurentiis had recently produced a crime thriller called Year of the Dragon, directed by The Deer Hunter helmer Michael Cimino. Year of the Dragon was a box office bomb and received mixed reviews, but like many movies, has gained fans over the years.

Unfortunately, in logic sure to make most fans scratch their heads, de Laurentiis became worried that Red Dragon's use of the word dragon might make audiences associate it with Year of the Dragon and not go see it. According to star William Petersen, de Laurentiis also worried that consumers might think Red Dragon was a martial arts movie in the style of Bruce Lee. So as usual, the producer won out and Red Dragon was re-titled Manhunter. That's despite director Michael Mann hating the new title, as well as Hannibal Lecter actor Brian Cox. To make matters worse, Manhunter bombed at the box office anyway.

I don't normally watch movies twice, but rewatched children of men last night. Still a great movie.

I really liked Mr Harrigan's Phone, a light thriller, didn't know it was written by Stephen King.

Watched "memory" on Amazon recently. Good watch, also caught "no time to die". Gotta say I enjoyed that Bond movie, it was excellent.

Watched Once Upon a Time in the West again, some say the best western ever.
Clint's got some competition.

''You brought two too many'
Bronson had time to slot that third one still standing again, then he wouldn't have been shot himself.

How old are you actually? You know that they still make movies after the 60s and 70s, right?

Avoid "Borrego" on Netflix. It requires too much suspension of belief.

I dunno man, it wasn't good imo. I don't think they made a good one after the original. It's a shame.

Luckiest Girl Alive. Really liked this drama.

EDIT: just found out that it's based on a book and loosely about the author's actual life. Makes the movie even more powerful.

Tx mate, ya, the Hammer stuff was good...I bet you saw Horror Express? That was one of my faves and I wouldn't mind a remake for that. I'm still searching for decent horrors these days, it has been few and far in between.

I'm still looking for someone that's seen the new "Smile" horror movie. Wondering if it's any good.
