Same, the grass is still various shades of brown but it's supposed to rain on and off most of the week. I'm not sure if it helps the smoke pollution but it does look less hazy for now.

Beautiful evening. Gave me a chance to work in the gardens after seven days
of rain before the shit storm forecasted for next Wednesday. |

The last three days have been really nice and I managed to go through the backlog of gardening chores. However, rain is expected for the next three to four days...

The solid week of rain we had didn't seem to reach up north far enough.. Still smells like a bonfire down here today. These fires are gigantic, especially the ones out west. The wiki page regarding only the Alberta fires "as of 20 May 2023 have burned over 842,000 hectares (2,080,627 acres)."

Looking brutal in Texas this week. Houston and San Antonio, especially. I hope the power grid holds up.

Much of the route was tree covered so tolerable but the open sections had winds that were so hot it was like cycling through through an open oven door. Even worse was when we'd hit a stop light and have to wait the cycle sitting in the sun. We made three cooling stops and I went through 3 liters of water in two hours. At 4pm the street level was sitting at 97˚F (36C) but should be tapering off the rest of the evening. Needless to say the shower I took when I got home was a very cold one.

First time our row of sweet peas over-wintered, only to get blown over by the spring winds. Harvest time...
