I really don't see why the Camaro can't focus more on the muscle car theme, aka 1/4 mile straight line speed. The Z06 has moved more in the direction of their GT racing program. |

Z06 is just out of my price range right now, even though it does look to be quite a bargain.

When the next Camaro comes out, it "should" weigh less than the current car. The current ZL1 is already more nimble and handles better than the Hellcat. Again, if the Chevy equals the HP/LB ratio as the Hellcat, the Camaro should still handle better and possibly equal straight line speed.

who the hell compares a bloated musclecar with a hardcore sportscar? the hellcat could have 1000 ponies under its hood and it wouldn't matter; it can't put its 700 down to the ground at practical speeds as is. which is fine... it's not intended to be some kind of max-performance car anyway.

As much as I previously would have doubted that Chevy would produce a Camaro with more horsepower than the top of the line Corvette, the ZL1 weighs around 4100lbs and the Hellcat Challenger is estimated around 4200lbs so that would make a lot of sense.

Right? I remember stating it would be $85-95k. I'm glad I was high, though base model with the z07 package hits $87k

BTW, why do people compare something like a Challenger to a Vette? Or a Camaro to a Vette? 2 totally different breeds of performance. People always gets caught up in the HP from cars. OMG! Hellcat has 700 HP compared to the C7 Z06 puny 650 HP! Ok.....check the weight of both and see which will be faster. |

For me i would also need another car to drive in the winter, and even on days i don't feel like driving the corvette. It also only has two seats. My M3 was over 70 grand, so i could maybe swing this car. but for reasons i said above, its just not the car for me. |

https://www.chevrolet.com/performance/copo-camaro.html And my response was to 335m saying that he couldn't see GM letting a Camaro beat the Vette in the 1/4, even if it is a limited production car. Now you can take that as the C7 Z06 being limited production or a Camaro. Honestly, the Camaro was the car that did it all. From the road course, to the drag strip and on the streets. The Vette never started anything until the later C5 era. Yes, there was a C2 Z06 but for 1 year only compared to how many R/S, Z/28, Yenko Camaros that were made and were used to race. |

Oh lol, that thing, I didn't even see it as a reference point. It's basically a body in white made for drag racing-usually sold with no motor. Both Ford(Mustang Cobra Jet) and Dodge(Challenger) also offer similar options.

Lol. If I were to get a fully optioned Z06, forget getting something like a DD 3 series. I would gladly drive a 1,000 dollar piece of shit as a daily if needed.
I personally enjoy seeing peoples reaction when they see my in my beater 2001 toyota corolla one day and than in my 2012 C63 P31 the day after. Love it! |

Dunno how you do that. With the climate we live in, you would only get 5-6 months a year (4 months this year) to possibly drive the Z06. For the other 6-7 months, I could not imagine having to drive a much worse car.
Do you drive the C63 all year round? If not, do you find its worth driving the corolla in the winter to have the C63 in the summer? |

The 1le, zl1 and z/28 were all road course oriented. Not one of them was advertised as being 1/4 mile cars. They are advertised as being cars that you can drive on the track while shuttling your family with you there and back. Corvette is a no compromise vehicle. I think both vehicles have their own separate markets and despite performance overlap, there will be no problem regarding stepping on the others feet. |

But yet 1% of ZL1 owners take it to the road course and are more into drag racing or making tons of power then if they get beat.....you won't beat me in the twisty's because of my ZOMG MRS!
Theres more Z/28 guys going to the track than ZL1 owners and there are less of those cars. |

I've only driven my "nice" cars in summer/spring weather. They all go in the garage for hibernation the moment temps start going below 5 degrees Celcius. I don't like driving a shittier car but I'm fine with it. It could be a lot worse. My beater cars could be my only cars. |
