Well that was fun....Sky F1 and the R5L commentators had it down as a racing incident as did Leclerc and Alonso...while anyone with a connection to Red Bull has it down as Hamilton's fault.
No surprise the Stewards gave a (soft as they dared) penalty to Hamilton they really had no choice to avoid screams of bias to a Brit driver at the British GP.
Even now Red Bull still have their panties in a bunch calling for more penalties.

A smart driver would have let Hamilton pass...with the Red Bull being easily the faster car with the option to take the undercut at the first pit stop the win was still likely.
But smarts is something Verstappen is well short of.
Maybe next time Verstappen might be slightly more pragmatic and look at the bigger picture....but I doubt it, he can't stop himself - think Brazil with Ocon.

Max's PU from his damaged car may be serviceable though if it is found that it's not then an extra new one should be allocated on the list without constituting to grid penalty in the case of a crash like that especially as the other party was to blame.

Seems like you loose your ability to think when it comes to Max.

Safety car did come out at first, but because crashed car couldn't be removed and barrier had to be fixed, race was red flagged after.

Earlier today , I heard MAX's HONDA Spec-2 PU is already in Japan.
At first sight there is damage , but not too bad .

The chassis , floor and the body of the 16-B is another story ...

MAX is still dizzy today . But he feels It's going better than yesterday .
Last night MAX got painkillers and other medication for his dizziness !

Grosejean got 53 G in the fireball . MAX got yesterday 51 G !

So here is my take.

- Good recovery drive for Ham, tough first lap
- Glad Max is OK
- Norris had a pretty lonely race after the long pitstop but I dont think he could have held off Bottas for the whole race anyway. Maybe.
- GREAT to see RIC up there in 5th finally
- Sainz was all over RIC, I cant believe he couldnt get past him after being within a second for 10+ laps
- Leclerc put in a HUGE performance. Especially fighting with PU issues. Super impressed with his drive, like always
- What the heck happened with Perez, I have no idea what the intended strategy was for him but it seemed terrible from my perspective, he was always going to be on a two stop and then they stopped him a 3rd time just to ensure Ham didnt get the point. Just seemed like his race was completely sabotaged after Max was out.
- Good race for Alpine. 7 and 9 is good points for them this year I think. Alonso is showing his stuff and I am happy to see it. I was partially thinking he would come back and would be on par with Ocon.
- It was good to see Vettel chopping it up and having a battle and then poof, old Spinning-Seb came out to play
- Tough race for AT
- George will get in that top 10 some day. Mega Mega Mega Friday from him. I had chills when he put in that lap time on an empty track with the fans all going bananas

In the end, doesn't matter as Max didn't finish the race.

If he moved over or let off, he could have finished the race and had 51 laps to make an overtake. Maybe that is the part you should be trying to "get".
LeClerc was loosing pace and it was only a matter for time.
