Things that annoy me at a "commercial" gym?... hmm. I am a powerlifter, so I go to two gyms, one commercial and the other a full powerlifting gym.
Half-squatters People who curl in the squat rack People who DO squat in the squat rack, then proceed to leave the bar fully loaded when they are done. The guy who walks in and loads 225 on the bench only to quarter rep, bounce that shit. Then proceeds to walk off, leaving the bar loaded, of course. Old men who flirt with young girls, also people who think the gym is a fucking club scene. GTFO. Women who do provocative exercises, half-naked... Sure it's nice to see, but not while I am training! It's distracting, goddammit! Large groups of fuckboys, that talk REALLY fucking loud to get attention. The personal trainer who doesn't even lift, brah. These people are NOT saluted, on a daily!

I got a video for you.. I'll upload it over the weekend.. Dude a my gym loaded up a bench (I think about 3 45s and a 25) and began to do something that looked like elbow bends.. I seen people lift with almost no range of motion but this guy fucking took it to a new level.. |

1. People that have to slam/drop the weight. If you can't control it all the way through then it's too heavy.
2. People that ask how many sets you have and you say 3 and offer them to work in, but they proceed to just stand there to wait for it. 3. That gym social life. Talking more than lifting. |

People who move the adjustable benches from the free weights over to the smith machine...then just leave them there! So one way or another someone is gonna have to move it outta their way, whether I need the adjustable bench or someone else needs the smith machine.
Or with a whole row of empty flat benches they choose the 1 adjustable one to do a flat bench exercise

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before here, but I find people who walk around with "imaginary lats" seriously annoying.

The annoying teenage bros, they just hang in packs and are annoying. But hey I'm happy for them, getting swole before heading off to college. Wish I had done that. Wasn't a stick at that time, but certainly wasn't ripped.
The really jacked middle-aged guy who just gives off a creepy vibe. He's always at the gym, talking about how much he used to "pull." makes you wonder if he even sees his family or is even married and settled down. If you go to a nicer place, there is always that subset of middle-aged and old guys who just love to hang out in the locker rooms. Some even just go there to take a mid-day shower, watch TV, and talk with their boys. They love walking around in their towel or just being straight up nude. The fobby people from a particular south asian country that starts with an "I." It sounds racist but I'm actually from the same ethnic group, but was born and brought up here. They'll come wearing goofy clothes, do goofy workouts, and smell like masala spices . Love my own people, but they act pretty embarrassing a lot of times. |

Had a fuckstick in the gym last night who used every squat rack at the place.
Granted its a smaller gym, and theres only 3 racks outside of the smith machines, but this guy was going between all 3 of them for about 45 minutes. I finally pretended like i didnt see him and took one. Kept the headphones in and didnt make eye contact but could see him in the mirror and it looked like he was gonna say something till I put the 3rd and 4th plate on. |

If you can gently lay your weights down after using dumbbells, woithout making a peep your doing it wrong. Everyone one hates brutally slamming weights, but if your lifting to failure it's going to make some noise.

The floors at your gym aren't padded to absorb the impact? It's usually a thud, unless you're talking about like machine weights where the plates bang after the last rep.
