It is finally here. I have just returned from the BMW after checking everything is ok. Now waiting for the license plates to finally pick it up... and make some decent photos.

Congratulations on the new car! What color is your wood trim? What color are the seats? It's hard to tell from the picture.

Thanks, I dont't remember the exact name of the trims, but with the photos with light I hope they can be identified: light tone wood and bronze/pale gold trims and express sobraun seats

I was quite worried about the bronze trims , but gold tone is very light and is not striking at all. I didn't want to be confused with a flamenco singer :

Lol. Is your daughter staking her claim? She wants it to be her car when she gets her license. Although in Spain it's 18 so she may have a while to wait. Are those the Luxury seats or the Sport seats?

No, she isn't into cars. And that is not a problem for a few years, although soon she will start bringing home the most stupid guy she could find to drive her, it is law

But for now, she is the official copilot, with the excuse of getting dizzy in the car, she has taken the copilot seat and sends mom to the rear seat.

The seats are the sport ones. They look gorgeous, but I'm don't really know if I'm not used to them, or they are not really as comfy as they seem. I miss my Volvo seats. I do a long trip once a month (a little more than 500 milles in a day) and when I finish, I notice it in my back, and this didn't happen to me in the Volvo. Maybe I still have to find the correct position for the lumbar support or just I'm getting old.

It's possible that you just need to find the right position. When I was looking at the car in the showroom, they have the M Veganza Alcantara sport seats in their 530i. I was perfectly comfortable, but my wife, was not. She said they were too firm for her liking. That's why I decided to order the Luxury seat package. But I ordered them in black.

Kids are the same everywhere. My Son used to use that he was too tall for the back seat so he could sit in front. Now he's 32 and can sit in his own front seat all he wants. I agree she will bring home the stupid guy. Hopefully she will marry the smart guy with a good career. That's what mine did. Once she went to university she realized that the football players were not for her, and married the geek who now works for Pixar, lives in San Francisco, and drives a Tesla (Ugh!). Even he admits that the interior leaves much to be desired as to fit and finish. And the glass roof has no blind. He was drooling when we test drove a 540i X Drive (Executive, but not M Sport at all) when we visited.

Sorry guys. I know a lot of you are all about the electrics. But I am too much a gear head for an all electric. I draw the line at Mild Hybrid, because there is no other option with BMW. I wish they made a M550i again. I would have bought a 530e 2 years ago, but when I went to my broker I found out he cannot sell them because he can only sell US Spec gasoline or Diesel models made in the EU. He is not allowed to sell the Electric/plug in hybrids because they all require 60 Hz charging, and Europe is 50 Hz. While you can get a converter pretty cheaply, since it does not come from BMW, he can't sell it.

However I got turned off even plug in's when I started reading into what all goes into producing the batteries for the electrics. But I won't get into it because there are too many arguments for or against either one, and I am not looking for a battle. Just buy what you want and I will respect your choice.

My son’s girlfriend gets anxiety from being in the back seat with engine sounds. It turns out that she is fine in the back of my i5 with the sky lounge roof and no noise or vibrations from an engine. It’s quiet and relaxing.
