You could still see land? I'm not a boater, but I figured within a few hours you were out of sight of land. I've never experiences that on the ocean, I always thought it would be wild - and the stars at night have to be unbelievable. Congrats, I bet that was a fun trip!

We were 21 days on a cruise from Los Angeles to New Zealand with stops in Hawaii, Tahiti, Moorea, and American Samoa. Over 8,000 miles at sea with only small islands in view along the way. It was amazing. Even more amazing was 2 weeks in New Zealand after the cruise. Now that's a beautiful country!

On one of the cruises that I was on, we passed Punta de Maisi, Cuba at night and were close enough to see some lights. I'm sure that nobody on shore heard my "Free Elian Gonzalez!" yell from the ship.....
