I think there may be some truth to your musings. If the skin is perfect, they are a bit younger, have had less time to build up the heat (of frustration)? Less vim and vigor, as it were.

Yet those with fine "laugh" lines and crows feet have lived longer, built up that tension, stored away the heat of battle.

I never noticed the name until now but it's called the butt master

Ahh... i could work out that the dents in the pads on the left were from elbows and there were handles to hold on to.

I don't think the pedals are visible when the seat is moved as far forward as it will go.
