I don't know how the z06 is setup. On my mustang the air simply bypassed the supercharger screws, so there was nothing to compress. The screws still spun, but without compression they spun easily.

What an awesome beast
The coolest part is that you can run this car in 4 cylinder configuration, NA V8 cylinder configuration, and Forced inducted V8 configuration. Everything on the car is track and racing inspired.

MPG really comes down to how much torque an engine can generate while doing the least amount of work (using the least amount of energy). The S65 lacks in that department. This is simply the nature of these engines. So even though the S65 is more "advanced" when it comes to downright performance, it lacks in all categories except for how high it can rev which to some allows it to win in the fun category. |

That makes sense. It would be extremely expensive to create a car that is appreciably better than what GM has done with the Z06.

In one of those videos with the engineers/chief designers/etc they mention there's more power to get out of this engine. Seemed like a hint it'll get a power bump or special edition in the future.

My thing with the valet mode.....is why they didn't make it so you're limited going 25 mph (maybe slower), RPMs no higher than lets say.....2k and limit the throttle to less than 50%?
Cool features but they missed one big one for a true "valet" mode. Oh yea, under $100k fully loaded Z06! The base price is what is amazing. I cant wait to see this car tear it up on the road courses/track. |

Serious weight reduction and naturally aspirated. Imagine the process that brough the ls3 to the lt1 is given to the ls7. 550-600 hp naturally aspirated with 300 lb weight reduction would be sublime. |

Chevy can do something with the next gen Camaro, or whatever. The Z06 is a different animal for a different buyer. It is a complete package, not some motor bolted to a terrible chassis like the Hellcat. Don't get me wrong the Hellcat is cool, glad to see it coming out of Detroit. But the Z06 is now a track monster, on par with some of the exotics costing 2-3x the money.
