….ughhhh! I hate passenger side approaches to be honest and we aren't trained that way on my department. I mean, I could make an argument for a passenger side approach (…bullet deflection should the driver shoot out of the back window, concealment on the passenger side of the car, etc.). On the other hand, approaching from the driver's side gives me a front row seat to the immediate area around the driver. I'll take the latter approach all day.

There's nothing is routine when conducting a traffic stop as you. You dictate where you want them to stop and it all depends in the area ( county, city, freeway etc.). W1 TS all my lights are on (light curtain rule). Get out as quickly as you can. I sometimes prefer the passenger approach, observe then pie as much as you can and find cover then I approach the vehicle. Freeway TS I prefer the passenger side approach. W2 TS I prefer the driver side approach.

It must have been a slow news day earlier this week. The NY State Police put out a press release for arresting a driver for DWI, after blowing .31%. He was driving a farm tractor.....

My middle son came home from high school event - freshman. He was staggering to the point I had to hold him up. I couldn't smell a thing on him, and he kept saying someone spiked his drink, so we rushed him to ER.
