jk... But doing their paper (especially when you don't know anything about the subject) is probably not the best idea... This better not be some scenario where you do her homework while she goes off on a date or something... |

I have an english degree, I wrote a book, I can bull shit with the best of them! But still, bio ethics has sparked my interests and Im into this paper. This is what I have so far: In the medical field, there is a clash between the practices in which people are cured; the traditional practices that indigenous tribes have divulged from their ancestor’s lineage and rituals, which are validated and backed by years of rhetoric and heritage, while modern medical practices practiced by doctor’s in more developed countries are backed by tests and science. In each culture, these practices are defended heavily, and their backers truly believe they are doing right for their sick. Biological ethics suggests this is a real problem, because there is a disconnect between cultures, and often enough, the sick suffer because of this gap in disparity between modern medical practice and the traditional practice. This is a huge ethical dilemma in the medical workplace, because people are being “denied” the treatment they need for their ailments, because by tradition, they cannot accept the Western medical practices, as they must live and die by their traits and beliefs. What do the doctors do in this situation? There is a very fine line—and it comes down to trying to respect a culture, yet get the sick help before it’s too late, and sometimes, it does become too late. There are many cases like this, but one profound one, in Anne Fadiman’s, “The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down”; a young girl’s family is in a dispute over western medical practices, and this disconnect becomes a death sentence for the girl and her epilepsy.

I knew a guy that came out his back door and there was a deer. Deer freaked out and ran right into him. Knocked him down and ran away. I had a deer about 10' from my back door but didn't see him. I let my German Shepard out and he chased it through my back yard and into the woods. Best dog ever. Ran to the property line and stopped. He wanted that deer soooo bad.
