RB18 track footage leak, still can't see anything because the guys camera sucked. It still sounds meh, no better than the merc:

Thumb nail kind of shows an AMR style under cut side pod. Floor from what I can tell doesn't look as complicated as the merc. Livery is not that good imo, it is old and stale now, the fan renders were better.

Here's another photo leak, again the camera absolutely sucked:




From what I can tell, nothing radically crazy about this design, very similar to the alpha tauri actually in terms of side pod design. The floor from what I can tell is nothing to remark at (only higher resolution images can shed light on this), and the supposed further forward cock pit doesn't really look farther forward. Overall to me from these images, it looks very simple like the merc and alpha tauri. Can't wait for better pictures if they ever show up. We do have images of the front wing though.






Alot better image, but we don't see too much except the front pull rod suspension. Very bold choice, but could be a risky move and result in poor handling. We shall see during the testing and season. Front wing is very mercedes style joined in one piece on the lowest element and not just attached to the nose. Temp probes are on the wing elements and not on the end plates like the merc. Doesn't look like it has double tea trays but I can't really tell. Roll hoop inlet looks like it only has one middle divide. Rear wing looks interesting very deep looking kind of like last years wing but I can't tell.

And one more. Again crappy resolution. But if this is the front wing it is ugly as hell. This might be a different variation they are testing, but man is that wing ugly.

Not seeing anything radical in the RB, maybe that is why they haven’t released it before now. Maybe they really did put more effort into 2021 leaving them a bit behind?

Will have to see how the car evolves and who copies what from Test 1 to race 1.

When I look at the Ferrari concept I really see potential, when I look at the Merc concept I have some doubts. I'm not sure if the slim body method is the way to go, but it's Merc so you cant doubt them. Maybe the slim body approach really will flow to the rear better idk, maybe simpler is better I really don't know. But I wouldn't doubt Ferrari this year.

I'm no aerodynamicist but fear simpler and slimmer may be the way to go. It looks like MB & RB are in that camp. Looking head on, the Ferrari has A LOT of surface area to push through the wind compared to others.

Plus, Ferrari hasn't produced a decent engine since the beginning of the Turbo Hybrid Era. They have also show an inability to adapt. As I've said before, MB blazed a path with the split turbo and Ferrari never followed. RB and Honda finally did and almost caught MB in terms of power.

We will see soon enough.

With so little testing I wonder if any team can afford to sandbag? They may have to show their hand straight away.

This can't be the real W13 suspension setup , the thing had the ride-height from a German old-timer Taxi car !

I pretty sure the Red Bull RB18-B has the key to the ground-effect !
And they reached the highest straight-line topspeed ever (with DRS)

The Mercedes team looks very confident , but they have (still) some work to do ! Even with their dummy car !

Conclusion :
The Ferrari situation is actually looking better than Mercedes !
