I'm similar to you. I'm walking around at a pretty lean 200 lbs. right now, but I look/feel my best at an even leaner 190 lbs. It's the best balance for power and speed at my height of 5'10" (…with consideration to the activities I'm into). It's crazy the difference 10 lbs. can make.

To ride the dead horse a few miles further in the new year...
Its the beginning of the year and few new members are appearing, I suppose they have made a few good intents and mostly they will ran out of energy before the March come to an end. Whats actually more annoying, they had taken a few very young people (16+) of both genders and one of their favorite hobby is posing and photo-taking into the machines or elsewhere into the gym. Unfortunately the head trainer don't care and so they got mostly scared-off by much more older members, which want to train fluently and not into braked-off phases because the machine is blocked by posers. My very special anger moment is when that girl comes on, I guess not more than 19y/o, not very bright and no eye catcher into all ways. But she wears always these pants which will give women this kind of tushy which is perfect rounded, even if you havent a nice one. This isnt enough, she almost picks up the long barbell, takes it to a free place and sticks around 100kgs on it. Then she sits down, moves her legs under the barbell and lifts the weight very short up and let it crash down with an enormous bang. When she is sure that the most other people are looking at her, she continues to lift the (much more too heavy for her) weight and let it bang back the ground. Then, when shes done (no matter that even some trainers dont know the purpose of this exercise) she got up and pulled her big sized shirt over her head. Just dressed with a sporting bra she dismantels the barbell and return the parts slowly back to their places. Aside of the fact that I wouldnt wear shoes if I hadnt feet, she neither needs a bra... but this is another story She got pointed out already by trainers and members not to let the weight just fall down. And from another female member the hint, that a nice booty would be made by sports and not from a pant How do you handle such 'nice' co-sport members?

Been awhile since I posted a pic so here I am currently in clean-bulk mode and sitting at 210lbs. Had a lot of distractions messing w my training intensity the past few months but I'm doing the best I can under the circumstances. Beach season will be here in a few months but I'm happy with how I look so no rush to start cutting cals yet.
Hope y'all are gettin it in at the gym for the New Year!!

^Wow @54!! Nice work!! I'm almost 43, hope to stay as committed as you clearly have.
I've been doing mostly kettlebell work since thanksgiving - feeling stronger than ever in terms of functional strength - incredible for my cardiovascular strength and conditioning - feel better - more energy - up at 4:45am and committed to lean muscle - which may be healthier for my 6'2 196 lbs frame. I am shaped like a swimmer/baseball player. I'll prob put more size on as the temp heats up, but for now - working on being more cut. |

Can anyone here recommend a good iPhone app for keeping track of weight/reps from a workout? I have a Quad Lock system so I can wear my iPhone on my arm and I need a basic system to keep track of weight and reps. Trying to remember specific weights for each machine is more than my aging brain can handle. I need an app that will let me *quickly* note the weight I used on a given machine and how many reps and sets I did. Ease of use is the most important thing. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles.

Hour+ in the gym today. Pool was down for maintenance! >:|
Focused on most upper body muscle groups to compensate for no swim this week, which otherwise would be an upper body workout. Mainly machines, and some dumbbell curls. |
