Haha that's pretty funny because then it must have been me for sure. I work in Greer. I'll definitely keep an eye out for you! Not too many modified 1ers around here either.

Yeah....I haven't seen many either. Mine's only the 128i.....but I was looking for a dependable daily as I have the Corvette for the weekend. But I plan to upgrade it this summer for probably a C7Z or at least GS.

Looking back at it, I bet an older (2008 or so) M3 would have been fun as a DD. I used to have an E46 M3 and it was a blast.

The contrast in driving characteristics between the two make sure I never get bored!

I daily my m5...only time I would garage queen a car would be for investment reasons. If it's not gaining 10% a year drive that thing like you stole it and enjoy the money spent! Life's too short not to enjoy the toys we have. I used to daily a corolla and constantly would just be pissed I wasn't driving my "fun car" so now everyday I am driving my fun car and loving it!

I think I would actually prefer a 128i! I've considered adding one as a DD but figured it would be too similar to my E36. My E92 M3 made an awesome DD before I got my E36. Would still be actually but I'm too attached to it and plant to keep it for good. That's why it's turned into a nice weather car only.

Btw, don't know if it might interest you, but my good buddy has a red C7Z with a manual that he's looking to sell. He bough it brand new from a dealership in ATL and hasn't quite gelled with it. He's put a few thousand miles on it.

I've been highly considering picking one up. Between my 2 cars and my 60 mile round trip commute, I'm spending upwards of $400 a month on gas. No bueno.

You can't go wrong with a Honda, really. Reliability, resale value. The main hazard is that it's a little to easy to fall asleep at the wheel. Very manageable, though.

yeah get a used honda. my 09 civic takes me on my 80 mile round trip commute. 1600 miles a month, 30mpg (its all highway so this is consistent). 53 gallons a month at $2.12 for regular. $115 a month.

400x12= 4800
115x12= 1300

so like in 2-3 years the FIT/Civic that you get will have paid for itself with how much you're saving on gas.

How about a used Honda insight (new gen), crazy high mpg and reasonably priced.

Now Cayenne Diesel. Love the torque and mpg. Range is pretty sick, 750 miles. Also diesel here is usually cheaper then 93, so some savings there too

Some of your commutes are insane, the miles some of you do is mind boggling. I know I am unusual but I do about 6,000 to 7,000 miles a year.

depends on where you live and traffic. my commute is 45 miles each way, but it takes me 30-35 minutes tops door to door. its actually pretty relaxing and nice way to unwind after work.

i've been to chicago, ny, miami, san fran... that traffic just isn't for me. i'd lose my mind.

I split my time between a Hyundai Tucson and a Jeep GC SRT. The Hyundai is great because it's reliable and I don't care what happens to it. I can park as close to a store as possible and not worry about dings/dents. The Jeep is a brute and not the best DD because it's a little too nice to not care about and the mileage is abysmal. Ultimately though, I work from home so the concept of DD is less of a need for me.

Lol, I have had my M2C for 2 months and already have 3000 miles on it. I bought a brand new Ducati in April and it has over 6000 miles on it. My daily commute is 60 ish miles, but I drive a lot more than just that (obviously).

2002 Civic - boring as hell but I barely trust my 135i to take a drive more than an hour from home.

Just averaged 36mpg on an 800 mile road trip.

Anyone here daily (or have any experience with) an R53 Mini, specifically 05-06? Looking into one as a good mpg daily that's not going to bore me to death.
