Congratulations! It's awesome to see some progress for the stop sale vehicles. Are you in the Los Angeles area or are you in Louisiana? (not sure what the LA means under your name). I ask because I'm in the Los Angeles area and am waiting for my dealer to get the part for my recall - not as urgent as a car that hasn't been delivered yet, but it may still indicate that my part is closer too.

update from BMW dealer UK
had an update from BMW in Liverpool, they are starting to work on cars and release them, but the order they are told to fix them by BMW is random. So its going to be a slow frustrating process.

The problem and solution has been known for quite some time. It is just a matter of getting the parts for all of the affected vehicles. In come countries though they are not repairing the vehicle until it has a problem. Sounds like yours may be one of them.

I did get my 5 series on Saturday and all seems well. The only thing I don't like is all the piano black plastic in the summer console. You breathe on it and it leaves a fingerprint. The car comes with a spare tire now for the first time in years without run flats. The spare tire severely reduces the trunk space. Check out the pictures online.

Dealer called me and said the part is in. Just dropped it off now. He mentioned that they’ve been getting parts for new cars but mine is the first for cars on the road with the issue. Let’s see how it goes.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the informative posts in this thread as well as in the Mini and X threads. I've been following since my 540i went on stop sell literally 2 hours before I was to pick it up on August 9th. It was a June (week 22) build. Waited patiently and the part finally arrived at my Southern Colorado dealer on Monday. Yesterday the part was replaced and the software was updated and I took delivery today. There was definitely a period of time where I was second guessing my decision to switch brand loyalty from Mercedes to BMW but glad I decided to wait it out. Thanks again.

BMW Canada has a delivery tracking system. My 530 iX had, according to the tracking system, arrived in Halifax and was bound for Vancouver a few weeks ago.
I was told my car was at the terminal in Vancouver (actually Annacis Island). I had followed the little blue dots on the shipping progress move along -perhaps across Canada. My car (last digits of serial number posted) then showed up on the dealership's website as "arriving soon." My sales rep told me when I called that they had the parts for the first recall waiting for my car at the shop. Then after my car was "in BC" I learned about the second recall. After emailing my salesperson I was told that perhaps the cars had been held in Halifax and they were all going to have both recalls done there. I called my Salesperson two days ago for an update on my car's status and location. My sales rep said he would call their Regional person back east and find out what was happening to my car. Since then Radio Silence. Coming back to BMW after over 20 years of Lexus quality service has been a wake up call. The Lexus 500LS is simply too small for me to sit in and see out the side windows The 5 Series with Comfort Seats fitted me so I ordered a 5 Series. I sold my Lexus last week to a young family we know who was despirately need a car because my car "was in" Vancouver. I have now named my new car Waldo, becasue no one knows where it is. I can understand QC issues on a new model. What I can't accept is no communication to customers. No one wants to drive a vehicle that has known issues that might compromise the safety of your passengers as well as those in other vehicles on the road. I think everyone can accept that fact. However, as a retired business owner I have great difficulty accepting/understanding BMW Canada's complete inability to clearly address these issues with their customers. I expect that they have spent many tens of thousands of dollars to have coaching and customer satisfaction gurus come in and tell senior management how to get in front of these types of issues with their customers and better manage them.
